Yesterday I had the carotid artery scan. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/carotid-ultrasound/MY00077 It only took a few minutes. I arrived at the place to have the scan at 10 minutes till 8. The technician from Peoria who did the scan was there waiting outside as the door was locked. No one got there to open the door until a few minutes after 8 so we had time to visit on the steps. I introduced myself, we shook hands, and he told me his name was Ed. He is a very nice young man. We visited long enough for me to find out that he wasn’t married and that he lived in Peoria. He heard my sad old tale of what my life has been like since I sold my home and moved here to the bigger city. To his credit he listened attentively.
Tomorrow is the stress test. I have to be at the hospital at 7:45 AM. I have had so many of these that I know what to expect. Because of that I am not looking forward to it. My cardiologist (aka Dr. God ) will be there. I hope he will be kind enough to tell me tomorrow the results of both tests.
The weather here has been beautiful the last few days. In the 70s with a brief shower once in awhile. Right now it is 60 degrees and sunny. I am doing laundry and just piddling around. counting down the days till the main event.
Another old picture from 1958. My brothers, Bob, Rube, Daddy and Billy.
I hope you all have a great day. Stay safe and be happy!! Thank you all for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers.
Beth
I hope both your test results are good ones. Had a carotid artery ultrasound a few years ago. The tech was a bit more informative than their allowed to be. Her exact words "I can't give you the results but if there was anything wrong I couldn't let you out of here". Made me feel better and when i did see the Dr. he said all was normal. Prayers and Hugs for you.

ReplyDeleteI thought you might be interested that I finally got a diagnosis yesterday. I have Parkinson's. But the Neurologist said that isn't so bad because they can keep it under control, which they can't for a lot of problems. I wish I didn't have it, but I'm so glad they finally found the diagnosis so many of these symptoms should get better when they find the right dosage of dopamine to replace what is missing.
But you are the one we are concerned about now so do keep us posted as we send good thoughts and prayers your way. Bertie
Continuing prayers on your behalf, Beth. I love this photo!
