I was on my computer and I had the TV in the room turned on so I knew right away. Jim was mowing the lawn. I shut off the computer and TV and went outdoors and got Jim. We sat in front of the TV in the living room all day long. We called all of our family just to make sure they were all OK.
The lawnmower sat right where he left it until the next day when Jim finished mowing. In all of our many years together Jim had never left the lawnmower outside overnight.
May God Bless America!!

Remembering all who have been affected by this tragedy.

It's still so surreal to this day Beth. I read this morning that it's been 4,383 days. Crazy isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHi Beth
ReplyDeleteYes I remember and watched much of it here. I stared in unbelief as the plane went into the towers.
It was The Hurricane's first day of her sophomore year in high school. They ended up not having classes that day after The Head of School called the students into the chapel to tell them what had happened. A number of students had parents who worked in New York or D.C. The school was in a small town in Pennsylvania, so it was very frightening when the plane went down in Shanksville.

Forgetting is not an option...we were in the Philippines under military lock down...I didn't even know if we'd make it home...seems like only yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI join you in praying for America. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteWe remember. It's something that will forever be in our memories. Peace to the survivors.
ReplyDeleteHope you are doing better Beth and your Sister also. I have been thinking of you lots lately. My dental work bothers me to eat...but it is nothing compared to your pain. Bless your heart. xoxo,Susie
Prayers being offered. Hugs to you, Beth, and God bless you.

ReplyDeleteHow can the world not know about this horrid tragic thing.
ReplyDeletePlanes coming in.
We watched ther service this morning and then with Canada as well.
God bless America. Some people from Canada was prounouced dead as well back then. I was heart broken to see children saying their parents names. Plus them now after 12 years still in mourning. May it never happen again.
Love to you Beth.
We just came in from grocery shopping (in SC) and Husband turned on the TV. We were floored when hearing tje first news report and then saw the second tower being struck. It was awful to see. Groceries sat in the living room for quite a while until I could put them away. Today he donned his once a year special t shirt while coughing so badly that he did'nt even leave the trailer because he has a head cold, but we remembered - you bet we remembered.
ReplyDeleteAmen- It was a day that the country really united as one. I'm am sure those memories of Jim are bittersweet- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteGod bless America. Tears in my eyes today seeing the scenes from 12 years ago.
ReplyDeleteA day we will never forget, even here in Australia....I watched the event unfold on TV in our late evening time with disbelief.
ReplyDeleteHope you are improving.
I remember. Yes, God Bless America.
ReplyDeletesuch a somber day, i remember every second of 9/11...every thing we did and felt!!
ReplyDeleteDaily prayers for you dear Sis, hope you are improving every day. XOXO
ReplyDeleteIt's one of those days you will never forget where you were and what you were doing...like when Kennedy was shot.
ReplyDeleteI remember. It was a peerless deep blue skied cool day. Perfection. Best day in a long long time. I smoked back then, so I was leaning out of the deck door with my cigarette since I didn't smoke inside. My eye was turned to the screen GMA, and I saw the re-run of the first hit and while she was talking about the "accident" as she called it, the other jet came in a hitting the second tower on a screen right behind Sawyer. I was horrified beyond telling. I stood there transfixed..then sat and watched the horror unfold.
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteA day I will never forget.
