Foggy morning…

in Illinois.  It is 65 degrees and supposed to warm to the mid or upper 80s today.  Quite a temperature range for the first day of October.

I was up bright and early yesterday morning after a restless night.  I had to be at the hospital for a CT scan at 7:45 AM.  I don’t know the results of it yet.  I am hoping and praying that it is OK.

At my doctor visit on Friday afternoon I found out that things were looking normal but I could expect the numbness, soreness and swelling in my cheek. tongue and neck to last for as long as a year or maybe even two.  I thought  what the heck as old as I am I had best just forget the pain and enjoy life.  That is what I am trying to do.

I am having a fun exasperating time with the iPad2.  I have received quite a lot of help from the Apple support system.  This is the first Apple product that I have ever owned.  I now have some of my own music on there and can send emails.  A nice way to spend some time.  Thanks to my Twin for her encouragement and help.

I have on my mind today to work on cleaning out the big closet in my hallway and then tackling the bathroom.  We shall see.

Below is a picture of geraniums still in full bloom at the doctor’s office.  Beautiful!

Have a wonderful day.  Stay safe and be happy!!

  1. I know some swellings take a long time to go down. The ankle I broke in 1997 is still a bit larger that the other. The same with a hand I hurt years before that. Just have to go with the flow.

I love my iPad2. Had it about a yer and still learning things. Fortunately my daughter lives next door and seems to have all the answers for me. Lucky me.

  7. Oh it's a challenge to be happy when things are not quite working right. I hope that everyone is pleasantly surprised when that discomfort is a thing of the past.

Oh, my, I was just sitting here when your full background came up...so pretty. And that tree in your header...amazing!

You have music on your iPad? Hmmm...I have not yet figured that out. I remember my daughter telling me at Christmastime that there would be a three-month learning curve. Well here it is heading toward Christmas and I haven't figured out music yet. =D

Keep having fun and don't work too hard on the closet!

  8. The fall foliage is beautiful. It is suppose to cool down this weekend - guess we better enjoy these last few days of warm temperatures. I am glad to hear your checkup went well. So frustrating that you have to deal with those after-effects though. You need to try out Facetime on your iPad. I like to chat with my grandkids using it. AND, thank you for the nice comment on my blog post today.

  13. Such beautiful geraniums. I'm praying about the test results, pain relief, and whatever else you need. It's shockingly cool here. I'm able to turn off the AC at night and open the windows.

  17. Beth you're more with it than I am. I didn't get my first computer until 1999. You're smart. You'll figure it out. I still need a reason to buy an ipad

You know I'm rootin' for you!.

  18. Beth, We had fog also. When you said you could have pain, numbness and swelling for up to two years...I believe you may. I still have numbness on the top on my foot and I had a cyst removed 11 years ago. I would not care if the numbness was in my ankles that hurt most of the time. I think as we age, we do learn to life with pain and discomfort. Just pray for good days...we get them sometimes. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  22. Sending up a prayer right now for a good CT scan. It is always scary waiting for results, I know. I hope that the pain subsides and that the numbness lessens as you go along. I suppose there was some nerve damage and that takes a long time to heal. Blessings to you- xo Diana

  28. Being told that you could have the swelling and such for a year or two would make anyone a little down but you have a positive attitude and that goes a long way
