Beautiful but sad…

As I look out my front window I can see the second house from the corner as you turn left off my street.  The house lost its complete top half in the tornado on November 17th.  There is a lovely perfectly shaped pine tree that sits in the corner of the front yard.  The neighbors across the street have decorated the tree beautifully with lights and ornaments,  As I travel down the street I run across the heavy duty extension cord from across the street which is keeping the tree lit up.   It is so beautiful that it brings tears to my eyes.  I think of myself being upset over the fact that my kitchen window is still boarded up and then I think about the people who were displaced by the tornado that lost their homes and prized possessions.  I remind myself with tears in my eyes that God has been good to me this year.  He has held my hand through so many trials this year and I am so very thankful!  I am thankful for my family and my friends who held my hand tightly too and held me up to keep me from giving up and falling down.

I am off this afternoon for an appointment with the ENT surgeon and my oncologist.  Have a blessed weekend.  Stay safe and be happy!!

I love you all!

Beth

But it is good to know God is holding our hands through all the troubles etc. Thank you for your lovely card received today, address fine. Love Nita and I hope you have a very blessed Christmas.

  19. You are indeed the lucky one when when you described what you see out your window and street. It takes a long time for normality to come into being after such a tragedy..

  20. Beth, you are continually in my prayers. I hope your health problems are gone for a long time. I know it is hard to see your neighbors hurting and not be able to make a difference in their lives. I pray for all the people who suffered disasters this year that changed their lives and comfort zones. May God especially bless them and bring them the peace that passes understanding, and new hope in the new year. God bless you all. Bertie

  24. That is sad Beth. What a wonderful neighbor tho to decorate the tree and keep the lights lighted. It takes so long for a town to recover from a Tornado. I hope your window gets repaired soon. It should not be that hard to replace one window. Too bad we don't live closer - D could do that for you. I suspect all the contractors are busy on larger jobs and are leaving the smaller jobs go until they have more time.
