And the countdown continues…

at 76 days till spring.  It is bitter cold here today.  The temps fell below zero overnight with more snow to come the next few days and the high on Monday to stay below zero.

My daughter came by this morning and took me to pay some bills  and get some groceries.  I stocked up because Boston Boy told me that one should always stock up when we have winter weather warnings.  lol   I purchased 10 TV dinners for the freezer for when I don’t feel like cooking and assorted other good stuff.  I made tuna casserole yesterday and put some of that in the freezer.  I think I may make some chili tomorrow.

I am still feeling like Scarlett today and not doing anything.  I am reading a book by Lisa Gardner.  I average reading 3 or 4 books a week, one of my greatest pleasures in life.

I am resigned to the fact that I can’t expect to get my window put in till Spring.   That is OK because I sure don’t want them putting a window in when it is below zero temperatures.

Nothing new to report here which is always good news.  The weather is boring and to answer a question about why I don’t go south for the winter…when I hit the lotto or someone leaves me a bundle then I will.  For right now, I can’t afford to maintain two households.  However I do have relatives in Florida and I am always open to suggestions.  Seriously, I do have numerous health issues that I don’t mention in my blog and I need/want to stay in close proximity to my doctors.

Stay warm and Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  8. Hi Beth, Oh I cannot wait for spring - but I know I shouldn't be wishing time away. No snow here so far this winter. However we have very wild windy and wet weather and lots of floods around. Today, it looked like it had snowed after a thunder storm with lightening and very large hailstones. Keep warm and safe, Hugs Nita

  10. It's good you're prepared to stay in. This weather is the pits. The weather just this minute said this is the last night of being at 0 and then down she goes for sometime.

  13. 76 days eh? Right now that seems like an eternity. You bought TV dinners. Where I work the big items were, bread, baloney, hot dogs and bacon. Not just some baloney for a couple of sandwiches but 2 lbs. And what's with the bacon?
It's been a tough couple of days for many people. we got about a foot of snow but 20 or 30 miles north of here they got 2 feet, but just 76 days...

  14. Now that's true! Replacing a window in these temps would be awful!

Relatives in Florida? Better than a second house. John and I could not afford to be snowbirds, but he does have a daughter there. Hmmmm... My aunt and uncle rent a four-bedroom home for six weeks along with three other couples. They have a blast.

Sweet of your daughter to make sure you got out for errands.

  15. Being close to good doctors is a good thing! I, for one, will be so glad to see Spring roll around. I know you will be, too. I made corn chowder today -it was that kind of day- xo Diana

  17. Sounds like you are prepared food wise, and hopefully you will stay warm. I too love to read but I do it mostly at night so it's about I book finished in 1 or 1 1/2 weeks. I also knit and write on my family history. And then there's all the cooking of meals and trying to catch up from before my diagnosis. Sty warm, Beth. I feel for you and all who are in such cold areas. My daughter lives in Minneapolis. Enjoy those books. I do too. Bertie

  19. I have done so much shoveling this week, every few hours. Now the deep freeze has us frozen! You mentioned your son living up north. I wonder where, because we live in far N.E. IL., on the IL/WI border. This last storm really nailed us.

    Take care! xo Nellie
