Neither wind nor snow…

nor a real temperature of 8 below zero will stop me from my appointed duty of telling you all that it is only 72 days till Spring.  It is still –8 degrees this morning and the wind chill is way down there.  The snow has drifted several feet high in some places and you can actually see a bare spot of ground here and there.  Our official snow total was 9.4 inches.

I have been stuck in my house for days.  I have cabin fever and all I have done is eat and read.  I think I have gained 5 lbs.  Today I am going to run the sweeper and dust the furniture.  Something to keep me busy.  I am about halfway through the Nora Roberts book.  Next is Janet Evanovich’s ‘Take Down Twenty.’  A Stephanie Plum novel which I should have read by now but I keep saving it because I love the Stephanie Plum stories.

Powerhouse author Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum novels are “laugh-out-loud funny” (St. Louis Post-Dispatch), “brilliantly evocative” (The Denver Post), and “making trouble and winning hearts” (USA Today).

If it reaches the expected high today of 12 degrees I will go out and see if my car will start.  Cleaning it off will have to wait awhile

Stay warm!  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  8. I'm sure there is a lot of us with cabing fever. Good books to read help make it a snap to get through. I'm waiting to read that book, but my husband is reading it at the moment. It will be awhile as he is a slow reader. Guess I should hve jumped right on it when the friend sent it to me. Keep warm dear lady.

  9. I'm grateful that you have good books to read. Harper just curled up next to me. He doesn't smell so good, but it's too cold to give him a bath.

    Love,
    Janie

  11. It is very cold and windy today here in Montreal...and there is ice everywhere, so it is a challenge to even walk a block! I don't read novels generally, I mostly read non fiction, but this one sounds quite good, Beth. Stay safe and warm.

  12. I think every one is dealing with these frigid temperatures.
Sure will like to see some warmer weather. It's a bit boring walking in the basement. I need to get back outside!! : )

  13. We're all housebound Beth. It's too bad when your only outing for the week in this frigid weather is a trip to the doctor's office and you actually look forward to it. Just a couple of more days to go for us!

  24. When I was young I didn't understand what cabin fever was I thought it was something to do with being sick in a cabin..........lol

Hope you get to venture outside soon and when you do it's not too cold for you.

  25. I have always dreamed of being snowbound and just sit inside and read. But when the snow comes it means getting outside no matter what the conditions and start digging and plowing or we will truly be snowbound. We have had such beautiful weather this past month with only accumulations of 2 feet so far. But of course we always somehow stay here until one big snow and that is coming tonight and Fridays. Why oh why can't we get out earlier. Just was enjoying the winter wonderland here didn't want to leave.
