Yahoo!!

It is 8 degrees above zero this morning and the wind chill (sorry Debbie) is 10 below zero. It is only 71 more days till Spring.  A bit more snow is predicted for today, but only an inch or two.

Maintenance finally came yesterday and cleaned the sidewalks.  I set the alarm for 6 this morning so I could make my way to the laundry room early.   I have made a good start on the day.

I got out yesterday afternoon and started my car.  It turned right over much to my surprise.  I also cleaned the car off and I hope to be able to get to the pharmacy and grocery store tomorrow.  They still haven’t plowed our street yet but I noticed that my next door neighbor made a couple of runs yesterday.  It is to get in the upper teens tomorrow so I will give it a try.

Nothing else to report here except I have cooked the last few days and only eaten one of the fat laden TV dinners.

One of my readers was unsure what I meant by cabin fever.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabin_fever

Cabin fever is an idiomatic term, first recorded in 1918,[1] for a claustrophobic reaction that takes place when a person or group is isolated and/or shut in a small space, with nothing to do for an extended period. Cabin fever describes the extreme irritability and restlessness a person may feel in these situations.[2]

Stay safe and be happy!!

  1. Good morning, Beth. Your morning low temperature was about what ours was. We expect our high today to be above freezing. It will feel like "heat wave." Be careful out there with that laundry! No cabin fever here. Seems like there is always something to do! xo Nellie

  14. ha ha- only a person living in the frozen north land would know about cabin fever! I understand the term well and have it at least once a winter if not more - depending on the winter. So happy your car is starting. That is always a big worry.

  15. we live in an apartment complex and rely on them for snow removal and for repairs, they are really good for things but the snow this year has been so much, its nice to read a blog where some one else lives apartment living, there are some frozen dinners I really like, lol, I'm not a snob, I admit it , lol!!!!Marie Callander has a chicken pot pie to die for, but its not nutritious at all, but once in a while, since mu eyes have gotten worse I have tried more frozen things, and will continue too,

  22. Hi Beth. Hope you managed to get out and about safely, take care. I have a bit of cabin fever myself, think I got that expression from you, but I knew straight away what it meant. So rain or hailstone, wind or calm I am venturing out soon with Amanda to go to town. Take Care - Hugs Nita
