6 Below zero…

on a bright sunny morning in the heart of Illinois.    The temperature is to rise to 7 above today.  I have hope though because it is only 42 days on the countdown till Spring!

I got out yesterday and cleaned the snow off my car again.  Our latest snowfall was 8.4 inches.  Put that on top of the 7 plus inches we had a few days before that and we have an impressive amount of snow here.  Our total amount for the year stands at close to 40 inches.  We have more snow predicted for Saturday.

Yesterday was a non-productive day where I got nothing done.  I wanted to do something but I just couldn’t make myself.  I am having some back problems.  I have had back surgery in the past.  I would never recommend back surgery to anyone except as a last resort because the pain is still there afterwards.  Part of it may have been because I did use the vacuum on Tuesday.  Let that be a lesson to me.  LOL

And now for some fun.  The following is a cartoon from Julie Larson.  She is an Illinois native from Lincoln Illinois.  I sent her an email once and told her she must be patterning her cartoons after me.  she replied that she was the model for the cartoons.

Have a wonderful day.  Stay safe and be happy!!

  1. Hang in, not out! Getting tired of the cold and winter in general now! Glad to see the neighbor walking her dog by here so I could share cookie bars - we are eating WAY too many sweets!

I have heard many people say not to have back surgery, but some are lucky and free from pain. Hope yours goes.

  8. I'm about to go out and start my car. I think it's about 17 degrees outside. My warm bed just a memory. What an ungodly hour to go outside. We might be getting the snow you're getting on Saturday on Sunday. I might even have to work Sunday for the first time in 3 years.
Stay in Beth if you don't have anywhere to go.

  14. Oh, my, snow as far as the eye can see! Visiting up here in MN and I have to say that I have a new found respect for people who have such long winters. We're lucky in Alabama if we get an inch of snow a year! Persevere!
