Another winter storm warning…

is in effect for today. The snow is coming down heavily right now and the forecast is for  4 – 7 inches of snow and up to 1/10 of an inch of ice.  I have nowhere to put the snow when I clean off my car.  I cleaned my car off again yesterday and today will be the 3rd day in a row.  It is 31 days in the countdown till spring.  After today the weather should warm up a bit and we have thunderstorms predicted for Thursday.

Last year the tulip/magnolia tree across the street was getting ready to bloom as we had enjoyed a mild winter.

This is was taken in early March last year.

I found  a book on my Nook that I read yesterday and that occupied my time along with cleaning off my car again.  I did notice that I have some pretty good choices on there so perhaps I will read some of them as I paid good money for them.  I did go on Amazon and order a couple of books with the remainder of my Christmas gift card.

I was just looking at the Peoria journal Star which I have delivered each morning.  I see that a snake handling pastor from Middlesboro Kentucky died after being bitten by a snake.  http://www.wbir.com/story/news/local/2014/02/16/pastor-dies-after-snake-he-was-handling-bit-him/5529907/  He was a reality TV star.  Which leads me to remark that I dislike immensely those reality TV shows.

Time for me to get moving and do something, anything that has a purpose.  I hope the sun is shining where you are!  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

P.S.  Blogger is not publishing my posts again until about 12 hours later.  So you will probably see this sometime tomorrow.

  1. It's nasty here today too...no snow (yet) but bad ice storm. We still have over a foot of snow out in the yard from last time...Rain and snow coming, and I just heard a big boom of thunder. For heavens sakes.

Irishman just came back in the house without his truck...uh-oh. He couldn't get off our road to get out to work.

  2. i hate when blogger gets finicky. that's happened to me before and if you go to your post, edit it, re-save and re-publish, it sometimes wakes up blogger to recognize it is there.

  4. Love the photo up top Sis.. I refuse to look at all the white anymore. Hope your day is okay and the power stays on and you are warm and safe inside. Storm headed here this afternoon. I am so weary of it all. Must admit I love watching the shows about living in Alaska a lot. The folks there seem pretty genuine and very hardy. I NOW know how it is to live with so much snow..I learned a lot from them on how they cope with so many months indoors. Take care Prayers for you always.. XoXo

  6. The sun is shining here today & it is 60 degrees.
Oh my I have never like snake handlers & the way I see it is if they are stupid enough to let deadly snakes crawl all over them & they are bitten & die then I do not feel sorry for them...
    have a great week Beth
stay safe & be happy hugs

  9. Hang in there, Beth. It has to end soon. Highway 90 was closed through the Cascades for hours last night in both directions because of snow. We have just had tons of rain here in the west side of the mountains, and high winds that caused power outages. We have really been lucky so far this year. Stay warm and safe. Bertie

  11. I've never understood the snake handlers. It makes no sense at all, but some people love creating rules or drama to accompany their religion.

    Love,

  15. You hear all the time how everyone is so tired of this winter. Patience is what we need, but it can by trying. I don't care for reality shows either. They're is not as much reality as people think, I believe.

  18. Love your pictures of Spring. We got tired of cleaning car so Hubby bought the car tarp. You just pull over the car. In the morning when you go out.

Wallah. Drag off. No cleaning. Drive away. Your neighbors are scraping the cars with grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr faces.

  24. I'm amazed at how different our weather is from your weather even though we're not that far apart. I blame it on the Illinois River as I'm north of the river because it runs east/west and it runs north/south where you live. We didn't have a mild winter last year and there definitely were no magnolia trees ready to bloom in March.
