What happened???

My beautiful spring weather is gone.  It is bright and sunny this morning but only 52 degrees and not to climb much during the day.  We didn’t get much of the predicted rain yesterday, only a few drops.  My son in the Chicagoland area got quite a lot more rain.

I am doing laundry this morning.  I am about out of milk so I am going to have to do a store run but I think I will wait until tomorrow to do that.

Thank you to all who gave me tips on how to fold a queen size fitted sheet.  Diana was nice enough to leave me a link and my Twin even called and gave me specific  instructions over the phone.  I think I am ready to tackle the last big closet now!

For Liz, I am so glad that your coconut cream pies turned out good for your Easter dinner.  The filling in my recipe can also be used to make a banana cream pie.  Just slice bananas into the cooled baked pie shell, add the cooled filling, top with meringue and brown the meringue.

Did any of you succumb to the lure of the day after Easter candy sales?  I did.  I love York Peppermint Patties.  I bought 5 bags of the egg shaped patties to put in my freezer.  I love those things  but I have to hide them in the freezer and get out one every once in awhile.

And for Mari in Madrid who is learning English:

suc·cumb

intransitive verb \sə-ˈkəm\

: to stop trying to resist something

I haven’t cooked anything for awhile so while I am hiding the peppermint in the freezer I will see what I have that sounds good.  I have been working on eating up some of the leftovers I have in the freezer and now I am ready for something else.

Have a great day!  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

I am having a difficult time getting out of this chair. Yesterday I did a whole lot of nothing. Call it holiday hangover, but today I must get on my horse and ride. Giddiyup!
My sister had little Dove chocolates of which I swiped a few. Mmmm.

  5. Sometimes we "eat down" which is cleaning out the freezer and starting over. It's usually when we have the ailment, "myfundsarelow." Oh those Yorks are my husband's favorite candy. A bagful is usually at his fingertips - and on them too.

  6. I see we have a strong storm system approaching that will bring our temperatures down and bring rain...I guess on the bright side it's not snow!

  7. I did not know that York made egg-shaped Peppermint patties. I love them, too, but am off sugar (for today anyway) so I am not going to tempt myself. Glad you found the instructions helpful. I learned to do it from my friend that worked in a laundromat when we were kids.

It is cold here and crisp today, too! xo Diana

  8. I LOVE peppermint patties! LOVE 'em. I can't stay out of them so I buy 2 patties maybe, eat one and resist the other one with drool running down my chin till the next day. Heeee. It's cloudy today with a hint of rain all day. Yesterday the great day! it was warm and sunny! Fitting. God pouring His grace on us.

  10. York peppermint patties are my very favorite candy!!! I usually have very good will power with what I eat, but not if they are around. When we have them, Ken hides them and gives me one every few days. : )

It's rainy here today and tonight it is supposed to get down to near freezing. Sounds like I'll be layered up again walking in the morning!!

  13. Just the mention of banana cream pie makes me hungry. I, too, love peppermint patties and you are smart to keep them in the freezer!
It is rainy/cooler here today. I actually enjoyed a cup of hot coffee after being out in the rain taking John to the dr.
    Have a nice evening.

  16. Oh no, just the mention of Peppermint Patties sends me in a whirl Beth. Too think of a freezer full of them would really send me over the edge but, I welcome it with open mouth, lol...Our weather is getting back to being a bit iffy too. The days are getting warmer but heck, those nights, they are just about freezing, literally! Soon, I suppose it will be here for good. (or at least the rest of the season:) Laundy day tomorrow, UG! Thanks for sharing, Beth...Sending sunshine your way:)
