A beautiful sunny day here in central Illinois. It is 40 degrees right now but is to reach 71 degrees and up to 77 tomorrow. I hope the tide has turned and we are really into spring now.
I am going out in a bit and run a couple of errands. I am still putting off cleaning out the last big closet in the hallway as it is a chore. For the life of me I wish I knew how to fold a queen size fitted sheet. Full size is not so bad. That is one reason I hate to clean out this closet because of those fitted sheets that are in a nice round mess in the closet. Any tips anyone?
The fresh green beans were delicious. I am putting the remainder in the freezer as today I am making the pasta salad. Here is a refresher on that recipe.
**********************************************
1 12 ounce box of rotini pasta. I have the colored kind that has different vegetable flavors
1 bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing
1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 diced red, green or yellow pepper (today I am using 1/2 of a red and 1/2 of a yellow pepper)
2 stalks of celery diced
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Several slices of bacon fried crisp, drained and crumbled (as many as you want as you are the boss)
Cook the pasta to the desired firmness. Rinse with cold water and drain well.
Mix the ranch dressing in a large bowl with the garlic powder and stir in the pasta.
Stir in the diced pepper and diced celery. Stir in the cheese and crumbled bacon and chill.

I really do like this and I have never been a big fan of pasta salad. I am going to cut this recipe in half today as it makes a lot of salad.
Have a wonderful day. Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
Hi Beth, Pleased it is warmer for you, it is still quite chilly here.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless - Hugs Nita
Sheet folding: Put each hand inside two different corners and flip one corner over into the other. Do the same thing with the remaining corners Then take the first set and bring together to the 2nd set and flip over it. You will have all four corners in one place. Then fold down two sides and continue folding until you have a nice and neat package. Wish I demonstrate for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipe. I love pasta salads with crumbled bacon - they are just the best! Have a peaceful and happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that springs seems to have finally arrived!
ReplyDeleteHave a Blessed Easter, Beth!
i don't even bother to fold sheets. just crumple them all up and stuff them into the linen closet. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that the days are warmer for you. We have a good sunny day too today.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter and God bless. Take care.
oohhhh lucky you on the weather, it's going to be nice here as well. i love pasta salad and i remember this recipe, i have to try it. i would put halved grape tomatoes in it and an undisclosed amount of bacon ;)
ReplyDeleteYum! The pasta salad sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteFolding fitted sheets is truly a challenge. I just always try to bring the corners together, then go from there. Sometimes the finished product looks better than it does other times.
Easter blessings to you, Beth

Your recipe sounds delicious...have to try that!!
ReplyDeleteI do not like fitted sheets at all! I just do my best trying to make it look somewhat neat! There are You Tube videos on how to do it believe it or not!
Happy Easter, Beth!
XO,
Jane
Easter looks to have a beautiful forecast...I'm so overjoyed to see some better weather for a change!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a blessed Easter.
ReplyDeleteThe recipe sounds really good, Beth. Happy Easter to you. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteI am not fond of pasta salads either but I will save this one to try.
ReplyDeleteHere is a link and it is how I have folded my fitted sheets for years. I figured someone would probably have something posted on Youtube and they did. Here is the link:

I will see what Nana sent and then if it isn't what *I* do, I will call with what I do.
ReplyDeleteFitted sheets are too tight as I have a sponge/type foam pad. I now have all flat sheets just like the hotels do. It all can come off in one pull and no dang elastic hang-ups. Your salad sounds good. Have a nice Easter.
ReplyDeleteFitted sheets are a bit difficult. I put the elastic ends in each other and straighten it all out as best as I can and then fold the sheet. I just read what I wrote and I'm sure that makes no sense to you. I'm going to go and check out the YouTube link. : )
ReplyDeleteWishing you a special blessing this Easter, Beth. May God bless you this year and more. Bertie
ReplyDeleteI love pasta salad and anything with bacon is obviously better. But how do you keep the bacon from becoming soggy after it's sat in the damp salad for a few hours?
ReplyDeleteDelighted to hear your weather is getting better, Beth. Here too! I got so much done outside today. It actually felt like Spring!
ReplyDeletePasta Salad is an all time favorite around here. I don't favor green beans unless they are fresh but Marion loves them any ol' way, lol...Thanks for sharing, Beth and a Happy Easter to You and Yours! Louise
I think it is Spring! I need to finish cleaning up the yard. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteOk I don't think anyone really know how to fold a fitted sheet we just do the best we can well I know I do and when it comes to cleaning out closets it is always such a big job that we put off
ReplyDeleteI came on here to see if you'd been given a tip on how to fold your sheets, and I'm glaad to say you have. LOL so now you know, and have no more crumpled sheets.
