Busy Tuesday…

Yesterday was a busy day for me.  I had an appointment for a hair cut.  Then I picked up prescriptions at the pharmacy, got a bacon/cheese quarter pounder at Mickey D, did some grocery shopping at Food Depot, had the car filled with gas and came home.  I was pretty well worn out by then.  I am halfway through my ten days of antibiotics and I do feel somewhat better.  Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

The streets in front of my house have been filled with trucks belonging to the young men doing the repair work on my old neighbor Barb’s place.  These are really some good looking young guys which makes me feel even older.  I am not so old though that I can’t appreciate a handsome young man.  lol  Yesterday as I was getting ready to back my car out, I spoke to a couple of the guys and asked them if they were almost done to which they replied that they were just getting started.  There was a truck parked in my driveway and one parked halfway across the end of the drive.  I said hey guys, you’ve got an old lady driver here. OH my gosh!!  you should have seen the guy parked in the driveway running to remove his 4-door top of the line truck!  I noticed this morning that he is the first one here so he parked out in the street.  I think I put the fear in him.  LOL

Today I am taking it easy and just resting and reading.  I thought about making some cookies to take out to the workers for their morning break  but I am really too tired.  Tomorrow I hope I feel good enough to go to Costco as there were some things I thought I would like listed in the new ad brochure that I received in the mail last week.

Have a wonderful day!  Watch out for the school children as you are driving, a 10 year old girl was hit here in Pekin on Monday and an 11 year old boy was killed in Peoria as he ran into traffic on his way to school.  Makes me so sad.  What a waste.

Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. Hope you feel better soon Beth - make the most of those gorgeous young men while you have them captive - it raises the spirits no end having something nice to look at - so sad about those children particularly when it results in a fatality and so unnecessary, if only people took a little more care.

  2. Costco we like too Hubby and I. The toilet paper and paper towels are a real good price and quantity..
Both the rolls are so much larger then other stores around.
We load up for like four months of stuff. To us it is worth it.

I had to chuckle about the young man you see. ha-ha. .

Glad your coming along sweetie feeling much better from your antibiotics. Did you have a real bad cold or infection in lungs?.

My friend got bad news the other day but is a healing process but it takes time. She was diagnosed with Shingles. Hubby and I got the shot for that.
Our doctor recommended it for us.

As the people who did not. They said they suffered agony with the shingles. We paid 200 dollars each for the shot but it is life shot. I have too many issues to get shingles on top of my problems.

Have a good read today Beth and relax and maybe to-morrow you will feel not as tired to maybe bake as you like to do that for others.

    Hugs
    Carol Ann.

  5. You struck fear into their hearts, eh? Ha! Oh they will think you a peach when you feel well enough to bake them some cookies thanking them for staying out of your way. =D

Any time children are in an accident, it is a sobering thing. I am so sorry for your community and the family.

  7. Hi Beth. Love your positive attitude with the workers blocking your driveway. And cookies, too. What a relief it will be to have a a new "face" on your neighbor's house! Take it easy today. We have a long hot summer on the way! Linda@Wetcreek Blog

  9. It's so sad about those poor kids. If more people slowed down in residential areas, things like that can sometimes be prevented. I am glad to hear that you're improving, though. That's good news.

  12. That is so sad about the school children! We drive through a couple of school zones just a mile and a mile and a half from us.

After all your activity yesterday, it is good to have a day to rest. I send along wishes for your speedy complete recovery.

    xo Nellie

  13. Yes, your header at the top is gorgeous. You always come up with a beautiful header. ha ha - I has to laugh at you telling the work guys that an old lady driver was there. That was probably the fastest they scrambled all day. Yes, we're in the time of year where we need to be extra cautious of children darting in the street, or riding their bikes in the street. Scares me half to death as I know if I were to accidentally hit a child, I'd never get over it. It could happen so quickly and easily too. As we get older, we have to be even more cautious.

  14. I think that young man moved his truck quickly because he knew a beautiful cougar when he saw one.

  15. Beth, It's nice that you thought of making cookies for the workers. When ever anyone is here doing the lawn treatment or like the driveway fellows...I made sure they had some water and sodas. Some times if they are young fellows they really never think to bring things they may need thru the day to drink. Take care and enjoy the weather, it's suppose to get bad this weekend. xoxo,Susie

  18. I heard about the little girl in Pekin. I liked the TV channels in Peoria to keep up on the news since my daughter lives close. Sounds like you are improving.

  19. You did have a busy day Beth, all that and then having an eyeful of some hunky guys, just my sort of day too. Be careful and don't over do things.

  21. Seems like "busy" weeks were in order for a lot of people this week. I'm glad you are feeling better. It's nice the workers moved the vehicles from your driveway. Oh I bet they would love homemade cookies. That is sad about the children being hit and killed. We live near a school on a narrow street and people still drive like maniacs at times. It's a wonder no one has been hit while trying to cross the street. Have a great weekend.
