It’s Finally Friday…

Oh my this hasn’t been the best of weeks.  Two doctor appointments and constant rain and/or drizzle and grey skies.  Yesterday the temp didn’t make it out of the upper 40s.  Today is to be a bit better and then next week close to 80.

When I worked for the AFB in the 80s I had this poster that read Finally Friday on it.  One of the airmen that I worked with had given it to me.  I was the only civilian in the office and I handled everything to do with officer performance reports.  Believe me I was always happy to see Friday!

finally friday

My poster was red with white letters and I had to keep it discreetly hidden on my desk.  I had a major for a boss and he frowned on things like this.  lol  The image above is from free images on the internet.  Parts of my career with the AFB I look back at fondly.  I have what is known as a selective memory and the other parts I don’t remember.  That is the great thing about a selective memory, just remembering the good and forgetting the not so good.  If you think about it, that is the way we should look at life, remember the good and learn to make the most of the bad!

I am not feeling quite up to par today so I am planning on resting and reading a book.  I hope we all have a peaceful weekend.

Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. That must have been a huge responsibility Beth, working for the AF! Yes, I think most of tend to block out the bad times and remember the good! Perhaps that's a good thing! No wonder you feel rather blue...all that gray rainy weather! I wish you warm sunshine for the weekend! Take good care!

  2. "Selective memory" - not such a bad thing.:-) I remember always being happy to have a Friday in the classroom, although Friday was far from being the easiest day of the week! There was a lot of stress being sure all papers were graded ready to send home, and folders were marked for the week. Have a good day taking it easy! xo Nellie

  3. I used to get what I called Friday Euphoria, but then I started working from a home office. I was already home, so Friday didn't seem like such a big deal. Now that I have a job I like, I still don't feel that same Friday Euphoria. Hope you feel better. What are your reading? I'm always looking for suggestions for our book club if you've read anything really good, let me know.

  11. Sorry your not up to par. Keep legs up and get some reading.

I am under weather also. My Colitis gave me a hard time last night for hours. So rather tired today.

    So resting myself.

  12. Hope your feeling better by now.
I'm sure you have some interesting stories you could tell us. : )
I think most of us remember the good things from our past and forget the bad, perhaps that's why we say 'the good ole days.'

  15. Love the poster Beth and love your attitude about work. That's just the way it is and should be. Every job has it's good points and bad points. Aren't you happy you are retired and can do what you want when you want? Hope you feel better soon.

  23. Time heals all wounds they say...I often find myself looking back selectively. It's gloomy here again sadly and I'm helping move someone from one storage unit to another today...not how I wanted to spend my Saturday :(
