Garage sale finds….

I stopped by the garage sale again this morning on my way to the store.  I bought a few more books and talked to some of the ladies there that were running the sale.  I am very interested in going back there on a day that they are open to have a tour.  I   have always wanted to trace my dad’s roots and I think I can get some help from the county Genealogical & Historical Society.  One woman that I was talking to said that her roots had been traced to Germany with their help.

My garage sale finds.  I haven’t had time to organize them yet.

I also found this darling little teapot yesterday at a sale for 75 cents.  The light in the kitchen was not conducive to good picture taking this morning.

I also found a few other things that I needed (wanted).

It is already hot and humid this morning so I am staying in for the rest of the day.

Stay safe and be happy!

Beth

  2. I love that teapot.
The good thing about a garage sale is that people are kind enough to organize and sell their stuff even for less than a dollar, rather than bag them and put them in garbage.

  10. Happy reading . . .
We have an excellent used book store in the same building as the library!
    Expensive though . . . 50 cents for some of them . . .
    Seriously . . . what a gem of a store!

  11. I love that teapot, Beth! It would match a couple of mugs I have perfectly!:-)

I should trace my ancestry. It wouldn't really be all that difficult to do. I just haven't taken the time to do it.

You've a number of books to keep you reading!:-)

  13. I hope you enjoy your books. I used to buy them like that, but my eyes have gotten so bad for close up reading that I have gone to a Kindle. I still have shelves and shelved of books though. I can't let them go!

  18. teapots are a fav to me also Beth . Yes that would be a great idea to look up your roots.

I was in and old bookstore and I found my Uncles book in there.
He was a dr and he wrote a book before he died of cancer. So I was shocked to see three in there. He wrote it in 1972. The day my son was born. The book is called . Today is all you have . Overton Stephens. Md.

I really did not like him. He was a very badside manners Dr personality. Well when he was dying. He told all and he did some apologies to his associate drs.

He was the President of Staff of the Hospital I had my young son born in.

So you never know what the eyes may see. So you have a loot of reading for the Winter time.

  19. Great books and a cute teapot. It's been so humid here and of all things, I locked myself out of the house and had to call a locksmith who happened to be a friend and let me in for FREE. Thank you, Jesus. I'm just not a summer person. I like the beach in the May and that's it!

  26. Nice finds - I like the sense of optimism and imagination that going to garage sales brings - I always wonder if I am going to find something really good! Although, up until now garage sales only seem to increase the population of soft animals in my kids bedrooms!

  27. Looks like a productive day. I wondered whether or not you would find any books, and you did. Love the teapot, too. I went to Morton Saturday afternoon. Granddaughter's dance recital was at Five Points in Washington. There is still a lot tornado damage remaining. Sad to see.
