Gonna be another hot one….

The storms have been all around us this week.  Fortunately they have all gone north of us.  My heart goes out to all of those affected by the tornadoes.  To be hot and humid here today with high in the 90s and heat indices in the 100s.

heat indices – noun

1.

a number representing the effect of temperature and humidity on humans by combining the two variables into an “apparent” temperature, introduced as a replacement for the temperature-humidity index: a temperature of 90° and relative humidity of 65 percent combine to produce a heat index of 102.

Abbreviation: H.I.

I have some errands to run so I will be leaving shortly to get started before the chance of storms hits this afternoon.  I will visit you all when I get back.

Picture taken through my back screen door just a short time ago when the snow was heavy on the ground and the temp was below zero.

Have a great day.  Stay cool and be safe and happy!!

  4. Hi Beth! Yes, you have crazy weather just like us. It WASN'T that long ago that we had snow on the ground. We are trying to keep everything shut up here so we can delay turning on the air conditioning. I think it's a pool day (small plastic pool in the back yard, full of grass and toys!)

  5. Brrrrr! All those ice and snow stories are still fresh in my memory. Guess the best thing to do now is just turn the airco on full blast and wait for October and cooler weather. Keep Cool! Linda@Wetcreek Blog

  6. Funny how that snow looks SO inviting when the temps are in the upper 90's. We had all of those storms a few weeks ago and it was so scary.

  7. You are right about the heat. It has been there with the wind. At least the storms missed us for which I am thankful. I am sorry for those that got hit. They say we are going to have some flooding in the low lying areas along the Missouri River here. I have been trying to catch up with friends this morning before I go do something else. Have a wonderful day and stay cool. Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend

  10. Oh no. It's so hot and humid here. It's awful. I have projects that I need to work on outside, but can't get motivated in this Southern heatwave.

  14. We're finally getting a little rain here this afternoon. Ironic that you posted a photo of snow today. I was just telling Hubby this morning that I didn't think winter was ever going to end and that I think our long, frigid winter made us heat intolerant. Gosh, I can't remember ever having as much trouble working in the heat as I've been having since the weather turned warmer.

  21. Stay cool! It's a little early for the heat to be here for you guys. July or August normally. Have that fan going with lots of cold water:)
