The day after….

Weather wise it was  a nice day.  The forecasted storms did not materialize and for that I was thankful.  Since the tornado on Sunday November 17, 2013 I am actually on edge when it is a Sunday and severe storms are forecast.  I don’t think that I will ever get over that.

Storms are predicted off and on for the whole week.  It is predicted to be in the 90s, hot and humid with heat index in the 100s.  After last winter I am not complaining, just cranking up the air conditioner a notch and paying a higher utility bill.

My sis in West Virginia took some photos for me yesterday as she was on her way to the Kroger store.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have this kind of scenery close by your home?  The bridge you see is the bridge crossing the Ohio River from Kentucky into Ohio.  Where my sis lives in West Virginia she can put one arm in Kentucky, one arm in Ohio and stand with her feet planted in West Virginia.  Her city is Ken Kentucky) o (Ohio) va.  Kenova.

Kenova is a city in Wayne County, West Virginia, at the confluence of the Ohio and Big Sandy Rivers. The name of the town comes from its unique position where the borders of Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia meet. Wikipedia

I have several more pics she took for me that I will be showing later.

Have a peaceful week.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

I'm sure I'll be singing a different song come late July or August...lol

  5. Your sister's ability to be in four places at once is remarkable! I suppose there are a number of them. My state's only sister is New Hampshire so it's not so strange to have one foot in each spot.

That is a beautiful photo and your sis lives in pretty country.

  11. That is a beautiful picture of the river and the bridge. I'm just west of the Mackinac Bridge so there are a lot of beautiful places here too in northern Michigan. It's so nice to see special places in other states.

  16. We stay on edge here in West Texas this time of year...over the years, we've had a lot of tornadoes...some years worse than others. Lubbock hasn't been hit since the big one in 1970 but the thought is still there.

  17. Oh so lovely. At the moment ..tornadoes are closer than I'd like them to be. Three almost came together out close to Wayne Nebraska. Hopefully, the bad weather has moved on now.

Thanks for the state history too. Hope you have a good week.

  18. Tornados really scare me. I have never experienced one and would like to keep it that way. I am grateful for the green areas where I live. It's a welcome relief from the snarled traffic.
Yup we might hit 90 in a couple of days. Not my favorite temperature.

  24. That really is beautiful and it reminds me of the bridge that crosses the Mississippi from Dubuque, Iowa over to Illinois. Have you ever been there? Like to Galena? It's a really pretty area.

  26. Beautiful picture...but my first thought was, that was the last moment of happiness and serenity she probably had that day if her Kroger experience was anything like mine normally is! In fact, I often close my eyes and picture beautiful scenes like that to deal with the stress of people blocking aisles for 15 minutes while they try to decide what kind of rice to buy.

  27. So glad the tornadoes didn't threaten too much Beth. We're expecting some record breaking heat here in PA. Cranking up that air for sure!!!

Gorgeous shot your sister shared. West Virginia is just south of us and I rarely get there. I should change that soon, lol...Thanks so much for sharing, Beth...Stay cool:)
