There are no winners today…

Here I go getting involved in politics again.  I really don’t want to but today I have no choice.  I am so thoroughly disgusted with the verdict in the Blagojevich trial that I feel like hollering.  Well, maybe I am hollering.  24 counts and the jury could only agree on one count of lying to the FBI and hung on the other 23 counts.  The most important one, trying to sell the senate seat, is the most troubling to me.  Eleven jurors voted guilty and one voted not guilty.  The eleven jurors could not get this lone holdout (woman) to come around to a guilty verdict.  What is wrong with this woman???
There, I said my piece.  After all it is Wednesday and Wednesday is rant day.  That said, now to more important things in my life.  Number one being what I will do with the rest of the day.  I have already done a load of laundry.  In a couple of hours I am going over to the church with my daughter and help her and the nursery leader get things in the nursery ready for fall.  Yesterday I did get the vacuum out and used it, so that is done for a few days.
Still a pretty decent day but the heat is on its way back.  I am thinking jeans and sweatshirts and tennies and a walk in the cemetery when the frost comes and the geese fly further south.  Yesterday they were very close to my back door.
I hope you are all having a good week.  Every day above ground is a good day for me and I am thankful for each day.

  1. I cannot believe only one count they could decide upon. Getting ready for Fall, what fun! I actually forgot about vacuuming yesterday and my vac sat in the corner...ha haa. Have ah good day Beth!

  2. I don't see why people would think Blago would try to sell Obama's senate seat. He obviously didn't need the money because he had enough to buy at least one juror. Just one more example of why the justice system should actually be called the justus system.....it applies to just us.

  3. I heard about that verdict but can't be too surprised. The level of corruption these days sounds about like it did when Grant was president so many that are in politics or are wealthy and influential seem to live above the law. Perhaps people will get tired of it and we'll see some true reform...I'm believing for that still. It's getting warmer here too though it takes much of the day to get up there...I am thinking it's feeling a lot like fall...I can hardly believe it.

  5. When I heard that all I could think was he had great lawyers and the Feds didn't! Sounds like Illinois politics as usual.

  6. I saw the verdict as well Beth and I am not surprized. To me this guy just oozes guilt. Beautiful day here though it started overcast. Pictures, and a couple of little movies to be posted tomorrow.

  7. Hello Beth, I finally found a little time to get out and visit.. Politics lets not talk politcs. Awe now the weather here is roasting, our spring is going dry. Had to start watering trees and plants with water hauled from the creek pumping into barrles. And I won't correct my spelling cause you admitted early you are having trouble now also. I love the heat but I hate all the extra watering. I just finished pitting the last of the cherries today.. Still have rasberries picking a little each day. Such a busy time of the year here, But I love the heat if it weren't for all the watering. Don't get to close to those geese they can get quite aggressive sometimes.. It's not autumn yet please don't do that to me. Anyway my dear glad to see you are still keeping your days going. Hugs Carrie
