Hooray, not for 6 months…

I am just home from a visit with my primary care doctor and the good news is I don’t have to see her for 6 months.  I did make her very well aware of the attitude of the doctor I saw last week.  My primary care doctor is great but she is an internal med specialist and she thinks I need to see a specialist for everything that I have wrong with me.  I personally see no need to see a specialist if I happen to burp the wrong way.  ;-)  (Imagine what I was going to say, but was too nice to say it).

My daughter takes me when I go to the doctor in Peoria.  The traffic was all backed up this morning on the McCluggage  Bridge that crosses the Illinois River from Tazwell County into Peoria.  Fortunately the traffic didn’t get backed up until we were on our way home.  I sure was glad she was driving instead of me.

When we got home, we had the buffet at Godfather’s Pizza, picked up my meds at the Walgreens across the street and came home.  For some reason it all wore me out and now I think I need to rest.  There was a Perry Mason movie marathon on Encore yesterday so I set the DVR to record several of them.  I have stuff to watch while I rest a bit with my eyes closed.  lol

Yesterday I ate with my daughter and son in law.  Brats, potato salad, corn on the cob and dessert.  It was all good.  The sweet corn right now is delicious so we need to enjoy it while it is in season.  And now I will make this announcement, SUMMER IS OFFICIALLY OVER.

I hope you all have a great week.  Stay safe and be happy!

  1. Indeed rest. I got tuckered out jist readin what ya did! So happy no doc for 6 months...hooray! Pizza, now you made me hungry.

  2. Im happy to hear th egood news.
I agree with Toddie. Rest and I too am hungry,
Im off to look for something to munch on.

  3. hi beth,

glad you got the 6 months, hope I will too, when I see the eye specialist tomorrow, have to do a repeat of the eye test I failed at the start of it all. Field test I think it is called. Oh do wish summer wasn't offically over, cant bear the thought of the snow and ice. have a good week, hugs nita

  4. Great news Sis about the dr. appt.. so happy to hear that.. as for summer. I will never give up on it until the last dying 68 degree day.. don't care for winter or fall coming so fast.. The leaves are still greeeeeeen here! LOL

  5. God news Beth keep it up!I agree with you you can't see a speciallist for every burp that goes wrong. HA HA
    Hugs Margaret

  6. I think a person does have to take charge of their medical care in a lot of instances. If you don't you get run over rough shod a lot of times. Good for you standing up for yourself and you did it so delicately ;) Sounds like good eats and times my friend. I totally agree with you about summer being over...fal is in the air so strong. I heard that the Almanac is calling for a nasty winter and another cool summer in these parts...not happy but not at all astonished either at that report.

  7. I think running to a Specialist every time the Dr says so for minor things runs up the cost..HELPS run up the cost that is :-) of health care in general when people are just obeying zombies to the "authority figure" Dr. Glad you think for yourself. You know I know that when it calls for a specialist then of course, you have to go.

  8. I like the sounda that... 6 months!!

  9. I thought McCluggage is what Ronald McDonald packed when he went on a trip.
I love the old Perry Mason Show. Did you know that he did loose one case and did you know there was only one episode filmed in color? Just the sort of useless information I'm full of.

  10. Glad to hear you got a good report at the Doc's this week. I too got a good report card from my Doctor this week. Ha! Won't go into detail but it is good.
Summer isn't officially over until Sept. 21st in my neck of the woods and I will not hurry it along. It is cool one day and nice the next. Sat. is suppose to be in the 70's and sunny all day. I just may go on a Safari to the Toronto Zoo and see some of my furry critters. :)
I do enjoy Fall also but not looking forward to winter. Oh well , will just have to take it as it comes. :)
