Saturday news from the heart of Illinois…

and to begin with it is downright chilly here today even though the sun is shining.  It has topped out at 57 degrees and is to get down to mid 30s tonight with a frost warning in effect.  Since I have no flowers outside that doesn’t bother me too much.  I had lots of beautiful flowers at home but there are many things here in my new place that do help to even that out.  Having to scrape frost off my car will not be fun though.
I did get the coconut cream pies made.  They are yummy as I had a big piece of one.  The filling and the meringue are homemade but I am lazy anymore and use the frozen crust.  The reason I made two is so that all of you can have a piece.  This is my son in law’s favorite so you had better hurry a little bit.  :-)

I moved my recipe space to Word Press,  http://bethmariesrecipes.wordpress.com/  To be fair to Word Press it did move every one of my recipes, however my old family photos were not moved.  Those, along with my memories have been downloaded to my hard drive.  Also Rod Stewart singing Forever Young is a thing of the past too.   I know that some of you visited my recipe space now and then.  I will be posting new recipes now that I have moved it.  I would be pleased if you continue to visit.
I hope the sun is shining wherever you are and that you are happy.
Beth

  8. Beth - I've been following your blog since your husband was ill and will continue to do so at your new blog. Your life mirrors my sister's life so much - even her husband's name was Jim. You bring a bit of sunshine to my day. Love your recipe site too.

  13. Blessings girl....
I have never had those pies but they sure do look good. hmmmmmmm....don't get me started on the wordpress, I am there granted don't know if I'll stay though. The jury is still out as I finding that a lot of the FREE options we had on SPACES even here on BLOGSPOT is more than WORDPRESS and they (wordpress) wants you to PAY for some of the options we were known to be FREE for those of us you used SPACES and yes BLOGSPOT. But i digress sorry (soar subject). Never had those pies but lord they look good, hmmmmmmm.

    Have a good one eh..
    peace

  17. G'day Beth, Yikes, I think if I had to scrape frost or snow of my car, I'd leave it buried for the winter. Gosh, I hope someone nice wll come by and help you. I can see why the coconut cream pies are your son-in-laws favorite. Yum, what a tasty treat!!! The past two weeks have been nothing but overcast here, with some rain and wind. JL goes back to school on Tuesday, for Term 4, the last term of the year. Have a happy week! With love and care from Kerrie. xOx
