The high here yesterday reached 73 degrees and broke a record of 70 degrees set in 1908. A tornado toppled a school bus yesterday in Northern Illinois. Here we had thunderstorms and a heavy downpour. The temp fell from 73 down into the 20s overnight. Right now it is 27 degrees. This means I will have to dig out my winter coat again before I run errands this morning.
I received a Christmas present from my brother yesterday. A Nook, a violet t-shirt that says ‘Am I good sister or the evil sister,’ Rae got the same thing) and a Christmas tote bag. Now I have to figure out how to use the Nook. I see I have to have a wireless network or a 3-G network. I have neither one so I have the dreaded cable company coming to hook me up a router. I had a wireless network at home but when I moved here I gave my laptop and router to my SIL. Any suggestions anyone?
I really have to keep this short as I have to go to the bank this morning and run a couple of other errands. Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
Weather is the same here. No one knows from day to day what's coming or what to wear. Today will be 70 or higher, tonight 20, tomorrow 75 or better and then on Thanksgiving, back to 50. Lol, who knows.
ReplyDeleteLove those tee shirts you and Rae now have hahahaha.
As for wireless, I know nothing. I've now been online for 18 yrs and still haven't ever even tried a laptop. The only thing wireless I have is a cell phone and that one is so basic that it's only for an emergency. And I thought I'd never get old and lose out on the new stuff, HA.
Well, Beth, bundle up in the coat and do your errands. Maybe when the cable company comes it will be SO warm that you can greet him in a bikini LOL heyyyyyyyyyy Just kidding!...although you're cute enough ;)

Hi Beth,
ReplyDeleteIt is cold and wet here with a promise of snow by the weekend. oh joy - out come the snow boots to try and wear them in - not that I will be going out in the snow too much.
Hugs Nita
It was 74 here yesterday coming close to but not breaking the record. We missed it by 3 degrees. Today however it is raining to beat the band and about 60. It will continue to rain till after the boys go home. :-( I say both of you are the good sister! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a router and use wireless laptop..very protected.

I just finished baking the cookies with the snickers candy bar inside. Delicious!!
ReplyDeleteIt was 20 degrees this morning and seems the nasty stuff went your way but we may get some yukky weather soon.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what a nook is. Does it have ah cranny? I live in the boonies so hey. Have a great day and don't eat all those snicker cookies. Are they laughing?
Sorry I can't help you out. Kindle's come with their own Whispernet and I didn't need to get anything else for it to work.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're getting the kind of weather we've been having. I couldn't believe it when I saw it was 62 in Madison yesterday. We were at about 26 with freezing drizzle on top of the snow that's still hanging on! UGH!
Beth - I bet you could hook up your own wireless router. Go buy a good one at your local electronics store and a CD comes with the router that will walk you through it. Then if you have any problems at all, there is an 800 phone number with the router and they will help you for free. If I can do it, anyone can. I have a D-Link if that is any help; don't know if I'm supposed to mention brand names or not. If it still doesn't work, phone your cable company and they will help you on their technical services line. You pay for that in your bill. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteIt was 34c and 31c today and now 28c.
ReplyDeleteI find too hot to do anyting in around midday.
You have mild weather that you are taking about it? Of course you are good sister both of you:-)
How you could says evil sister..........
Good luck with router:-)
Take care,
Michiko
Hi Beth Cookies with Snickers inside added taste sounds yummy. I made a cake a few weeks ago and melted a mars bar and spread it on top instead of chocolate..Do hope you get your Nook up and running that is a e-book?Enjoy
