Monday…

and I woke up to a  bitter cold temp of 2 degrees F with a wind chill of 19 below zero.  The snow has drifted around my car and the front sidewalk is drifted over.  Maintenance came last night and plowed off the driveway where we back our cars out and of course everything has blown over again this morning.  I hope that my car will start.  I will go out in a little while and give it a try.

ZZZZZ 090

This picture was taken last year of one of my flower beds at home.  If you will click on the picture you will see how pretty they were.  The compensations here in my new place go a long way towards making up the difference.  It’s ok, I am just reminiscing, and feeling a little bit homesick.

To the best of my ability my early countdown shows only 97 days till Spring.

Red heart  Beth

  2. Cold here but not as bad as you have. We had about 5 or so inches of snow. Was only supposed to be snow showers. 2-3 in. tops.

  3. Oh myyyyyy, I clicked on the photo and Beth, they are GORGEOUS. That would make anyone homesick. I mean, now I'm homesick for YOUR old home. Lol, we all get just too close hahahaha.
It started snowing here this morning but it's almost stopped now. Just enough to be pretty, about an inch. But cold? B-R-RRRRRRRRRRR!

  4. Nice here in Calif, but tomorrow I am headed home via Chicago. I hope things have calmed down by then. I don't want to be one of those folks on the news stretched out on an airport floor. Your flowers look nice - makes me think about my garden now under a few feet of snow, I'm told...

  6. I just completely confused myself, Beth. Saw your announcement about the 2 blogs, so I clicked on the usual one. A message pops up saying that page is no longer found. I thought, shoot, must be an entirely diff site addy, so I put in the bmarie one as an add into my dashboard and then found out it's the same, lol. SO, I might be following you twice now, dang if I know. Good to be in the loop, though :D xoxoxo

  8. Hi Beth

I dont like word press much either. Altogether things seem to get more and more mixed up and confusing on here, since wls decided to do whatever it was they decided to do. ah well guess it is no good being homesick for that either. Hope you warm up, we have the snow back later in week they say and definately a cold and white Christmas. 97 days did you say? in the meantime may god help us to appreciate those special winter moments. take care - Hugs Nita

  9. Delightful picture for a cold day my friend. That countdown looks to be a big number now but bit by bit we'll see it warm up again. I'm looking forward to it already I have to admit. The mid-west is getting hammered while here in the North West we have it pretty good now...I guess it's only fitting since we got pummeled so hard before everyone else. Stay warm and safe.

  10. It won't hurt my feelings if winter flies by like summer did. Would love to look out and see flowers again.

  11. Your cold doesn't make me miss IL, although we're not much warmer. Was about 10 this morning and stayed in mid teens all day. We even have 8 inches of snow. Forecast was for .5 to 1 inch, only it didn't quit. Oh well, the grandkids have enjoyed it thoroughly.

  19. That's what I thought they were, cornflowers, but it's not the right leaf, more like a larkspur lef, please tell us, if you read this plea.
Cold[ish] here, but is going to get colder, we've a long way to go before it's spring, usually we get a mild spell before Christmas, which helps soften the length of winter, but not this year,. brrrrrrrrrrrr
