Sunday…

and it is the day after the snow.  The temperature is falling fast and my car looks like a giant snowball.  I cleaned it off once yesterday and now I need to do it again as it is to be bitter cold tonight.

I am really enjoying the Nook that my brother and sister in law sent me for Christmas.  The first book I downloaded was Sizzling Sixteen by Janet Evanovich.  Then a couple of Debbie Macomber’s books.  Also some free ones.  After Christmas I am going to join some e-book swap clubs.  Also my brother has lots of books on his so I am going to see if there is anything on there I want to read.  I am a romantic by heart but I really enjoy a good murder mystery, especially ones written by Phillip Margolin, John Sanford or Beverly Barton.  I will work on acquiring them next.  Below is a photo of my Nook.  My brother also included the book cover to go with it.  Thanks little bro.

This afternoon I will start making the cookie dough.  I was too busy yesterday to get around to it.  I was pleasantly surprised that at my old home, the folks there received 8 inches of snow yesterday.  Just think of all of that shoveling I would have had to do.

My sis in WV does volunteer work with special needs children.  She has asked us all this time to pray for a 6 year old girl that is critically ill.  Here again, because of the privacy act I can’t divulge the name of this child.  Perhaps when we pray for her we might include special needs children all around the world.  Your thoughts and prayers will be greatly appreciated.  Anytime is a hard time for a child to be ill, but Christmastime is almost unbearable.  Thank you so much.

Red heart  Beth

  1. Good Sunday Morning Beth. I love how you have decorated your space for the Christmas Holidays. What a neat gift from your brother. I am sure you will get many hours of relaxation, and enjoyment out of reading books on your nook. I have always enjoyed Daniel Steel books, but have read any in quite some time.
My thoughts and prayers are with this little girl, and she is in God's Arms. I also prayed for all the other special needs children and sick kids all over the world, that God would be with them and Bless those who extend love and care for these Children.
Take care and have a Blessed Sunday, Beth

  3. That looks like a neat way to read. Doesn't take up a lot of space either, lol.

Sending up prayers and thoughts for the little girl.

  4. That sure is a neat nook, never seen one. For the reader in bed, this looks easier than a paper book. If the screen is lighted, it would be better too, don't know.

  9. Your nook looks like a neat way to have books. How many does it hold? I suspect it's great to take along when you go somewhere.
My heart goes out to the 6 year and all the children like her. Would love to be able to say, 'be healed', and have them all made well.

  10. Your place is looking so Christmasy. I remember at spaces I use to go all out for Christmas. This year I just haven't had time to even add a slideshow yet. Oh well I have to learn I can't keep up with everything. Glad to hear you are enjoying your Nook. WE built a carport this year so no more shoveling snow off the car after over 20 years. Still hand shovel all our paths to all the different buildings and wood shed. That's my job. Its gets me out in the fresh air and serious exercise. I can still wear my rubber clogs to get everywhere outside. We have about 5" now. We now get a little then nice days then a little more it added. Will add an extra prayer for the little girl and all those others who might be in need. Have a wonderful week and thanks for always stopping in. Hugs Carrie

  11. Hello Beth, That's sounds like an awful lot of hard work to remove inches of snow everyday from your car. If it was me, I think I'd just settle for a giant snowball out the front of my place. Can snow damage your car? I know to some this may seem a silly question, but living in Australia it is not something I have experience. I have had holidays at the snowfields but the car was never left outdoors. Your 'Nook' was a lovely gift from your brother. I prefer the good old fashioned book, but I fear that will also be a thing of the past as things like the Nook come into being. I wish you happy reading! With love and care from Kerrie. xOx PS: I don't think you get updates for my place due to my settings. I think you may need to just pop by from time to time, well, that is of course if you want to. : )

  14. Wow, that's a lot of snow! We have a snow blower but it has to be the right temperatures or it just gets bogged down. We have had well over a foot of snow recently but the warm up is clearing things off nicely. Bless you my friend, I've been so busy but I will do my best to keep up!

  16. We'll get snow maybe Sunday. I'm prepared for it though. I got 5 loaves of bread, 4 gallons milk, 3 lbs ham, 2 turkey breast and a partridge in a pear tree. The partridge in the pear tree was an impulse buy.
