And I am satisfied…
This has happened and I am glad. Please read the article. I have a family friend who works at the hospital where Mrs. Ryan is a patient.
I received a call late yesterday afternoon from my doctor’s office with the results of the X-Rays. Severe arthritis was the words used. I can’t do much about it except wait as Horst said he is doing until I have to have hip replacement or back surgery. I had back surgery in 2000 and my arthritis has gotten steadily worse since then. I live with it which is just about all that you can do. Pain pills take the edge off but is is not wise to take too many of those as they are addictive.
It is bitter cold out this morning, 9 degrees F with a brisk wind. I am getting tired of doing nothing but I have been given doctor’s orders not to do anything until this flare-up has eased. Thank you all for your kind thoughts, they sustain me.
It is time now for me to manage some breakfast. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Beth
I knew Ryan was in jail - isn't that the next stop for all Illinois governors? (You all may be onto something there) - but I wasn't aware of the wife's situation. This is the thing about public events - or even those in other people's lives: you know the headline and tend to make a snap judgement "Put the bastard away!" "He's a living saint!" or whatever, and there are all these human elements in ANY life which, if not excusing what you read, are at least mitigatiing upon your judgement.
ReplyDeleteHope the flare-up flares down soon - did you really WANT to be out running a marathon in 9 degrees?
Take care, Twin. Thinking of you each day.
ReplyDeleteArthritis causes so many pain I wish there was a cure. I know my sister Rhonda has a severe kind and takes those really expensive shots to keep going. I pray yours eases up fast.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Mrs. Ryan gets the comfort she needs with ALL of her family around.
Hi Beth
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry your arthritis is flaring up so bad.I know how it feels as each and every joint i have is affected, but gentle exercize is the best although you just want to just lay around and not make the pain move to another area.Take care my friend just don't push it,take your time, and put lots of bags of corn on the most painful areas it gets the flareups down a bit i find. Hope you have a good weekend and God bless.
Margaret
my thoughts and hopes that the pain will ease, Beth, I wish there was an easy answer to getting rid once and for all...I too hope the flare up will 'up and go ' away soon... Take care, stay warm and have yourself a lovely week-end. xPenx
ReplyDeleteI know how it feels and can sympathize. My Hubby has severe arthritis in his shoulder and back too, but is still active and full of meds to keep some of the pain at bay. Arthritis was one of the reasons my Mom moved to AZ many years ago. But now, in her 90's, she is back in the Mid West with the snow and cold, but nearer to my brother. Spring will be here soon and you'll feel better. Until then, keep positive and WARM. I also take a supplement with Chondrotin and Glucosamine---think it helps.
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeletedo hope your flare up subsides soon - hugs Nita
I join the others in wishing the best for you Beth. My grandmother had arthritis but it was something she kept under her hat...I know that was hard on her. Bless you my friend, have a good day.
ReplyDeleteI do understand your painfully. I have an ankle joint that got crushed in and the arthritis is really severe, it's continuously swollen the best thing is warm water and a massage, It'll be the cold weather affecting your joints I just do gentle stretches when I have a flare up otherwise I seize up and can't move the joint at all. No hard exercise though.

My TN son used my big heating pad for his back, just wondering if one might help you. You've probably tried everything. I do wish you could get some constant relief, hoping the pain pills help and you rest well tonight.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good rest Beth, it seems only you can do that your doctor's told you.
ReplyDeleteHave a hot bath,It will make you easir for you.
I hope you are having a restful Sunday , I know what you mean by being shut up indoors. I suffer with arthritis in my right hand , some days its ok. Also back pain meds give me relief. Do take care and I wish you a good day, following your doc's advice. Hugs Sheila

I've been through some of those "flares"...I'm sometimes deep into one before I realize what's happening to me...besides the pain, they make you very ill...and, they can last a long while...that's how I missed most of spring and summer last year...knock on wood...I'm the same with pain pills, afraid to use them too much...it makes living normally very difficult...hope today is a better day for you...
ReplyDeleteAt least when it's sunny, my arthritis doesn't bother me. Hope that never changes and hope you'll continue to feel better.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad someone decided Ryan could visit his wife...had to mean a lot to her. I read the article and don't understand how he feels he was wrongly convicted...does he truly believe he wasn't wrong in what he did??
ReplyDeleteBeth, I sure hope your "flare up" passes soon. Having been through that I understand the pain and frustration of not being able to move normally. You're in my prayers.
This is what happens when you mess up and forget to eat your apple one day, now you had to see the doctor. Comfort, concern, and care is all that I am wishing for you. I hope that you find comfort in knowing that so many of your friends (including me) are thinking of you and are standing behind you... and what a nice view!
