Monday Morning Coming Down…

Yep, not only snow on my car this morning but also a nice layer of ice.  And wouldn’t you know, I have to be out and about in an hour or so.  I have bills to pay, etc.  It is warmer this morning with the temperature hovering at 25 degrees F.

Yesterday was a diamond day for me even though the Bears lost.  Now you all know I really didn’t care which team won but I was hollering for the Bears ‘cause you know I do live in Illinois and Jim was a Bears fan.  However, the better team won and now I hope they mow down the Steelers.

My daughter and son in law had lunch with me after church yesterday.  Roast beef, carrots, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn casserole and cherry cheese pie.  Now today I have leftovers.  I am going to make BBQ beef sandwiches.  My niece is coming over to have lunch with me today.

My son still hasn’t received his cookies.  How can a priority mail box take so long to get from here to Chicago?  Why did it take a package I sent to Australia a whole month to get there?  Something is wrong somewhere.  I was talking to my son last night and he wondered if the folks at the post office were enjoying his cookies.  Sad smile  Oh well, it is only cookies and I can make more of those.  Not important in the scheme of things.

I need to close for now.  There is still that business of cleaning the ice and snow off my car.  I welcome all help.

Now get out there and make this day a diamond one, or as my friend David would say, let’s make this a double diamond one.

Red heart  Beth

  1. Hi Beth,

Yes, here's to more diamond days. It is good to see you are getting so much more company and family visits at your new address than you did at your old. Hope the snow and ice melts soon. Hugs Nita

  3. Love diamond days. Hmmm, I wonder if your son could be right? Lol. Maybe the smell alerted them to a nice treat. I'd help but by the time I got there you would be done and and back home, and now I'm hungry for roast etc.

  5. Times like that I bet you wish you had a garage! I used to keep my car outside and it could be a real trial when I needed to get around. I've been free of the football drama...mostly because I don't care for football at all...sacrilegious I know! Have a great day my friend!

  6. I hate never having had a garage. Just for that reason and in the Spring, the sap and pollen, in the fall, the sap and leaves. :-(

  8. I'm with you on the Packers mowing down the Steelers though I am thankful the Streelers mowed down the Jets who mowed down the Patriots. Now if it was only summer I could mow the lawn. There are two more snow storms headed our way this week. It was below 0 this morning. At least you don't have to shovel the cold.
