Saturday Morning…

and I overslept, not getting up till 7:15.  That means I am behind schedule on everything this morning.  I did get the dirty rugs up from the doorways and got them washed.  Lost cause I know because we have more snow forecast for Monday.  Comes a time though when you can’t stand to look at something and the rugs were screaming at me this morning.  When someone or something screams at me I pay attention!

I went out to eat last night with my daughter and son in law.  We ate at Kouris where I had the Friday night catfish special.  This is a whole catfish, coated and deep fried.  Delicious!  I am not fond of the fries that come with it but the corn on the cob was very good.

I have changed the music on my blog.  I am sorry if you missed “Rollin’ With the flow" as that is a great song.

My daughter and I had a nice shopping spree at Sears yesterday.  I was able to buy her several things for her birthday which is February 14th, Valentine’s Day.  Next comes my son’s birthday on April 8th.  I didn’t get a sewing machine because there are absolutely no returns on items purchased there and I don’t want to be stuck with something I don’t like.

Gosh, it is almost time to think about lunch.  Time flies by so quickly when you oversleep.

You all be good to each other. Stay safe and be happy!

Red heart  Beth

  1. Mornin'/Afternoon, Beth! Overslept, ha. I don't know how you get all that physical stuff done so early in the morning. I'm still creaking and groaning just fixing Sam & Lucy breakfast.
"Whole"catfish! I've never had it whole, but since I adore catfish, I'm sure I'd love that, too. And corn on the cob is always better than fries. Yummy! I love that your daughter's bd is on Valentine's Day. Wow, how absolutely special is that. SO romantic! And your son's is Apr 8th! Mine is Apr 12th! I could tell you a ton about Aries men ;)
My sewing machine from about 40 yrs ago came from Sears. It was a Brothers make. I piddled with that thing for decades and never could sew a lick. The cabinet was so nice that it ended up as an end table for about 10 yrs and then it went to a "good" home where it could actually do it's job. Shoot, I could have waited and sent it to you, ;)
    XOXOXO

  2. So that's oversleeping!?! The last couple years I've gotten into the habit of sleeping until 7am. Rarely wake up before then. Garry is usually up earlier and has coffee ready. :-)
My sewing machine is a Sears Kenmore...think I've had it about 20 years. It's just a basic machine, no fancy stuff. I've been very happy with it.
I understand doing the things that scream at you...that's what I do. I have a hard time ignoring such things except for a short time.
Have a great rest of the weekend.

  3. Sometimes chores do scream at us and when that happens it's good to heed the call and get a lot of work done! We've had a cleaning spree around here...my son's room in particular which was an absolute disaster...it all caught up with him today though...yikes...his mother gave him quite the scolding! My music today seems to consist primarily of Guns n Roses and Godsmack...that's just the way my rock rolls! Have a wonderful day Beth!

  4. With this weather it's hard to keep the floors or rugs clean.

Hope you find a machine someplace. I don't understand that policy. Just isn't right.

A nice dinner with the kids is alway the best way to spend an evening.

  5. I had a Sears sewing machine too! My goodness. But it's gone with the wind..I must have given it away when I started all the shift rotation.

Don;t care for fish at all but I would have snatched all the corn on the cob off the other plates! And dare ya to say something.

  6. Hi Beth,Sounds like you were up and at it early. I like to sleep in until 8 or 9 on the weekends, as I am usually up at 6a.m on most work days.

It finally looks like winter here in my neck of the woods. It snowed here most of the day, and when we came out of the grocery store it was like a blizzard. Everyones car was white. Good job I remembered where I had parked. Ha!

I love catfish, and corn on the cob. Makes me hungry. Sounds like you had a wonderful time.

Love your blog page! I guess it wont be long now until valentines gets here, and before you know it Spring will be around the corner, and you will start your count down which we all love.
Take care and have a wonderful evening, and Sunday.
    xx's Dianne :)

  7. If I oversleep I find it helpful to go back to bed and try it again the next morning. I never get to do it but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be helpful. Frankie insists on making me get up before dawn to drive her to work and buddy is only too happy to assist. Nothing like a cold wet nose in the ear and a big, slobbery, dog breath scented, all over the face lick to wake you right up in the morning!

  8. I hope your health has picked up a bit for you Beth. Don't over do things with those rugs if you don't feel up to it. One things for sure the housework never seems to run away, it's still there waiting for us the next day.
    Have a lovely Sunday

  9. You make me feel so lazy, I slept in 'til 9.30 yesterday...Mind you, Bess was still snoring away, so she enjoyed the lie in as much as me.
Lovely to catch up with your day, Beth, and if you ever want to do some more rug cleaning, well, I have plenty in the kitchen which Bess loves to 'dirty' up...she's a dab hand at making work, but then she does look on it as being helpful I suppose.!!! take care my friend...xPenx

  10. Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better now Beth, know what you mean about the rugs etc. It is indeed hard to keep tidy this time of year. Tasty meal I just love Corn on the Cob. Hugs and have a lovely Sunday. Sheilax

  11. I've had catfish. It's not bad, but I prefer ocean fish to fresh water fish. I like you think of sleeping to 7:15 as oversleeping as I am geared to wake up at about 5 a.m. due to my work schedule. If the sun is up so am I. I think the snow you will be getting will be the rain we will be getting in a few days. Though that will get rid of some of the snow it will mean eventually more ice. I'll take the snow thank you.

  12. Sleeping in is good for you once in awhile. I have a player on my page but it won't play automatically when you go to the page, you have to click on it. Wonder what I did wrong.
Are your rooting for the Bears today?

  13. I don't think that over sleeping Beth in the winter time? Sometime good for you to do that:-)
First time I notices that you ate fish because
I don't seen your recipes LOL!
    Please take care,
    Michiko

  14. 7.15 isn't too long an oversleep Beth, especially in winter as Michiko says, as long as you catch up with your chores, does it matter.
That sounds like a nice meal out, I musty admit I'm always worried about eating fish out in case I get a bone.
Like your rugs, i'm forever cleaning dog towels and blankets, it seems such a waste of time as they get dirty and wet next time out, but it has to be done [big sigh] Thanks for your visits, love to see you. X

  15. I thought I'd drop by for a visit...I saw your name/comments on JennyD's blog and it interested me that someone could maintain 5 blogs; I have difficulty keeping up with one. When I opened your blog, how delightful! I love pastel colors and it was just sweet...
Sorry your overslept; you probably needed the sleep so deep breath, although the day is mostly over now and just enjoy the time you have!
