And…

the countdown to Spring as I am typing this is 11 days, 8 hours, 58 minutes and 7 seconds.  But, who is counting?  Well I am as I am tired of snow, ice, rain and cold.  It poured rain here last night and this morning it is cloudy and drizzly at 45 degrees.

Yesterday my daughter  came over and helped me start some spring cleaning.  We took everything out of the utility room, mopped the floor and starting looking through containers to see what could be pitched.  I found Jim’s letter sweater from high school with letters for football, basketball, speech and band.  Also my wedding dress which looks a lot worse and a lot skinnier that it did the night I wore it.  Then I topped the scales at 100 lbs.  Anyway the utility room looks great now.  Needless to say the letter sweater and the dress were not pitched.  Also the hallway closet has been cleaned out too.  That takes care of the closets  except for the bedrooms.  More  spring cleaning to be done in a couple of weeks.

My son is coming to see me the first week in April and he has requested the lemon cream cheese bars.  I definitely know not to use fat free cream cheese again.

Tomorrow morning is my appointment with my doctor.  I will be glad to get that over and done with.  I think I will celebrate afterwards by splurging on something.  LOL  Maybe some new books for my Nook.  I have 46 books on there now.  About half of them are free books.  I even have the Bible downloaded to my Nook and I have started reading it again.  That is my credit charge each month, books for my Nook.  Hey Pen, I made a rhyme without even knowing it.  Winking smile

I do need to get off here and get busy.  I need to figure out what is for lunch and supper.  I definitely do not eat right.  It is no fun cooking for one.  YES!!! I know what I am going to splurge on after my doctor visit.  Homemade mac and cheese baked in the oven.  You can’t get any better than that!!

You all be good.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Red heart  Beth

  1. I fully understand you wanting to splurge after the doctor appointment. I'm like that with things too. I join you on the countdown for spring too. We get one day in the fifties (tomorrow) then it's mid to high forties for the rest of the week....it's not much but it's a start. I'm not much of a fan of the time springing ahead though. Anyway, bless you my friend.

  3. I'm not counting either '-)
I know all will go well for you. My prayers are powerful! Seems lately I have dsl line to God. Now I don't think anybody really truthfully eats right during winter. Blame it on the holidays maybe. Glad the sweater and skinny dress were saved. You had to mention spring cleaning......

  4. I'm making mac and cheese tonight. I love the stuff, but only make it once a year. As surprising as it may be to you, the Bible was one of the first books I added to my Kindle collection. Very comforting knowing it's always a few buttons away.

Hope the latest snow missed you. Mother Nature decided we needed another 5 inches. BLECH!

  5. Hi Beth,

I have just seen your header about your mistakes, being your greatest heartache, well me too. But you are right without them we wouldn't be who we are. But then I have to ask myself do I really like who I am, I don't know that I can answer that. Ah well bit late to be getting so deep, so will say good night and god bless - Nita

  6. I just feel like to saying that we were both lost our dearest hubby in back age ago,
someway we were missed our hubby more than people who has divorce or separated?
As you said when you found Jim's letter...
as often i read again our love letter between Ken and myself and so many things I still have with me too.

I listen in the music and I write to you and thinking of you.
Hope you have a good result from your doctor tomorrow.
    Take care,

  7. Mac and cheese sounds so good. Haven't had that in a long time. I'm not counting either, I'm letting you do it for me :-). Need to clean closets here too. Not looking forward to it.

  8. I LOVE baked macaroni and cheese best of about anything. That box stuff stinks. Even what you get in restaurants..it's all creamy cheese sauce. The taste of home baked REAL cheese and butter and milk n the macaroni, heavenly.

I have the Bible on my iTouch, one to read and the other is audible. I'm making my way thru the physically hand help paper Bible again. Up to Numbers in the Old Testament and up to the end of Mark in the New Testament..this will be my second time through.

  9. I am counting down to spring too! We had some really warm days that were just a tease, because now we are back to cold, rainy, yucky weather. I'm ready to break out the flip-flops!

  11. Sounds like you had yourself quite the spring cleaning workout. I keep telling myself I need to do this......but too lazy, maybe I will when it warms up! But for now, I try and justify things with the fact that it is no where even close to Spring here, so I need not to worry about detoxing my house for now. Plus, where the heck does one begin??
Sounds like you found some real treasures there.
