Hooray!! Spring is finally here…

P3200004
Not many signs of spring around here yet.  I took this pic today of the hen and chickens that I carried from home when I moved.  They appear to have overwintered well.

You can see signs of grass and weeds underneath all of the oak leaves that ground maintenance did not clean up last fall.    I have seen robins and cardinals the last few days.  I love getting up in the morning and listening to the birds singing.  I miss my back porch in the spring.
I was out this morning to the store and to pay a bill.  Then my niece came over to have lunch with me and watch the one soap that I am hooked on.  That about sums my morning up.  Tomorrow is a doctor visit.
I spent half an hour on the phone with the cable company.  No fun, no luck.  LOL
I hope this is a good week for us all. Stay safe and be happy!!

  1. Well, I've been out and done this and that. I took the camera but there is noting new blooming yet. The tulips are tightly furled but showing color. Those will be next. I wasn't that excited with my hyacinths.

I stopped various places to pick up needed items.

Waiting on that phone cal that hadn't happened yet.

  2. It's a bleak world out there still and I think that testifies of just how bitter this winter was but the good news is that the signs of spring are still there in other ways: longer days and warmer temperatures just to name a few. I long to see some things bloom and for some green grass but it's pretty quiet yet...except the birds...they are not quiet at all...they sound absolutely ecstatic!

  4. I do so agree with you Beth, the sound of birdsong gladdens the heart of a morning, brings the day alive with a smile and a song...Good luck at the Doctors, and maybe Spring will quicken it's steps for us all soon. Have a wonderful week my friend..

  7. I saw my first robins this afternoon and the geese near the stock pond on the way to town are setting. Laura called this afternoon to say she was almost late for class because traffic on main Street was stopped to allow 5 does to cross safely! Never would have seen that back home.

  8. There is a saying in New England, if you don't like or in this case if you do the weather, wait a minute. After two beautiful days Thursday and Friday and two more seasonable days Saturday and Sunday, it's snowing today. there's more coming Wednesday into Thursday.

I haven't seen any Cardinals but I did see a Bishop on a telephone pole.

  9. It sure is taking it's time in showing us what we remember spring to be like. One of these days, I keep telling myself.
