I am sure by now you all know that I am a huge Willie Nelson fan. I don't agree with his lifestyle, but hey, that is his business. I got the biggest kick out of this article I saw in today’s paper.

EL PASO, Texas, March 30 (UPI) -- A Texas prosecutor has recommended singer Willie Nelson settle up a marijuana possession charge by pleading guilty and singing a song in court.
Nelson, 77, was arrested in November after Border Patrol officers allegedly found pot on his tour bus.
Although settling such petty cases is usually done by mail, E! News reported Tuesday Hudspeth County Attorney Kit Bramblett said he thinks Nelson should pay a fine and entertain the court by singing "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" as a community service.
"You bet you’re a** I ain't gonna be mean to Willie Nelson," Bramblett told the Big Bend Sentinel newspaper

ReplyDeleteOh please doesn't the police have anything better to do? Like finding murders, kidnappers, etc?

ReplyDeleteI understand that drugs are illegal, but lets face it Willie isn’t gonna give up his “pot”. He’s an old man who does a lot of good for a lot of people with concerts that he performs and donates all of the proceeds to charitable causes like Farm-Aid. Mr. Nelson should have his lawyers submit a contract to the court charging any amount he sees fit for the performance.
ReplyDeleteWhat if he refuses?? They going to send him to the big house, where he’ll have to sing for his dinner? Funny stuff...
I like Willie Nelson When my daughters gave a big party for my XXth birthday i had the DJ play his 'Always on my Mind' for them from me, as like all mums you sometimes feel you didn't do enough for them.
