Is Spring here or not?

I woke up to 32 degrees and heavy frost this morning.  Just when I had put my winter coat away.  I do think it is going to get better this next week to reach into the 70s.  Fingers crossed for that.  I hope all of you in the deep freeze had your plants  covered.

This is turning out to be quite the week too.  Last week storm devastation and a lovely wedding.  This week, the death of an evil person.  My  own worries seem paltry compared with this.  I hope this means the beginning of the end and we and our allies can bring our troops home.  I am weary of war.  I was a small child during the World War II and I have lived through the many wars that have followed.  I would so love to see peace while I am still on this earth.  I pray every day for that.

I am trying to think what I have accomplished so far this week.  Not a lot, that is for sure.  I have cleaned, done laundry and run errands.  It is not hard to keep this place clean with only 2 bedrooms.  I was used to 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.  And the price of gas here right now is $4.29 a gallon so that puts a damper on going out just for the fun of it.  The price rose 20 cents in 3 days.  I am trying to consolidate all of my errands in one run.  I just heard from the pharmacy so I have to go pick up a prescription with no time to consolidate.  Smile
I will be back to visit you all when I get back.  Stay safe and be happy!!

  1. The gas is ridiculous. We had planned to do some camping this summer but it looks like it will be just 1 trip. Jack is cancelling his turkey hunt this year. Waste of money for the permit, but cheaper than the cost of gas to go.

  2. Running back and forth to the storage place is costly so trying to keep it to a minimum for sure.Still moving along and gas is same price here and boy it sucks to even think about driving any place just for the fun of it.Cold and still have my heat on and about 4 jackets hanging in the closet..never know what one to wear..guess it will be cool until JUNE! Love the new look of your page.. so nice!! Take care Sis..

  3. Twin, I guess the greedy guts companies raised the prices to celebrate the demise of the chief terrorist in the world. I won't want to write out the name..search engines.

Cold here too..furnace is running. Supposed to be high 30's tonight. :-(

  4. I'm not sure about spring really. We are breaking records for it not getting above forty for a low since the year began...this leaves record snowpack in the hills which raises fears of flooding. The days are fairly nice so at least we have that...and of course we've had no horrible storms and that's reason to rejoice by itself! We leave in less than a week for Ireland so I guess it doesn't much matter what the weather will be doing here so long as no bad storms happen our way! Bless you my friend, have a great day!

  7. Frost advisories are up here, as well after a week of beautiful warm weather but we're supposed to be in the upper 70s this weekend and I say bring it on.

I fought for the same reason my father and his father and all the generations on both sides of my family have fought ever since one of my mother's ancestors died during king Phillip's War in the Massachusetts Colony. We answered our country's call in the hope that our children would never have to. When the Cold War ended I had hope that we had finally reached that goal. A little over 10 years later that hope was dashed and I can't help but wonder if we will ever see that day.

  9. Thank you for visiting. I do enjoy your visits and commentary, it gives the opportunity to see things from another side.

The things they ought to regulate they do not, they should not be able to just raise gas prices just like that, its rediculous.

  11. I am extremely happy that Bin Laden is dead! If, he really is. Obama clearly made it a higher priority in recent months to get Bin Laden. He only gave the go ahead with the mission after absolute confirmation. Those brave men and women… Our troops did a magnificent job! They deserve the credit and recognition. I have not forgotten. May the families of those lost on that day find some sense of peace allthough we know this is not over. To our military and our US citizens please be very careful in the days to come.
As happy as I am that he may indeed be dead, I refuse to jump around when someone dies…I don’t want to become one of them. But, that doesn’t mean I am not thrilled. The sea was too good for him. Bury him in a vat of pig’s blood.
