Baby it’s cold outside…

NOT!!  It is summertime here in Central Illinois.  Each year at this time I ponder this question, would I rather have extreme heat and high humidity or would I rather have a blizzard like we had on February 2nd of this year?

The first pic was taken at my nephew’s house in northern Illinois on 2 February 2011.  The second pic was taken at my house the same day looking out my back door.  Click to make larger.

On a brighter note, I have enjoyed 3 ripe tomatoes from my 2 plants.  Delicious!

Not much to say here except it is hot.  Tomorrow I will have to get out to pay some bills.  Then back home to the air conditioning which I hope keeps working.  You all stay safe and be happy and STAY COOL!!

  1. Yes, it's hot, but those pictures make me appreciate summer airconditioning all the more. I don't like excessive heat but hate ice and snow even more.

  2. I don't like the humidity that summer brings but I hate sub-zero temps even more. I'm perfectly content in my AC lol.
    Have a good day!

  4. We've been blessed with cooler-than-normal weather this summer---so far it's only been over 100 a couple of times! Only supposed to get up in the 80s today. But the real difference is that the humidity has been higher this year. Things are slowly drying out and I'm afraid we're in for a fiery August. Enjoy this time of year---the snow will be here before you're ready...

  5. Wouldn't mind looking out the winter and seeing a few inches of white stuff today.....heavy emphasis on FEW!

This is an easy choice for me. I breathe much easier in cold weather. Hazy, hot and humid is really taxing on my lungs.

  6. What a beautiful flower Beth, WOW you really did have a blizzard last winter didn't you. I think I love the summer here more than the winter. & love home grown tomatoes :-) Your site is looking better every time I visit you. Sorry I havent visited all my friends more but this time of year I don't go on the net as much as I do in winter or rainy days. Thank you for you nice comments on my site sweet friend. love you Beth. big hug

  8. I suppose the grass is always greener on the other side as is the weather somehow better. Our winter was brutal and I don't miss the flu season one bit let me just say that. I might change my tune some when we are in the tropics come October. We have none of the humidity so many have here in our state and for that I remain thankful. Bless you my friend, have a great week.

  10. Oh goodness what crazy year we have had! Hope you got a chance to stay in the air condition. Maybe today will be cooler? We're still here in the cool air with rain. But I will stop complaining I can always layer it up, being too hot would be a pain. HUGS
