Gonna be a hot one…

today as the heat index is to reach in the 100s today and tomorrow.  I am all settled in for the day having sweet talked my tomato into getter redder and watering the plants.  I have another tomato turning on the other plant.  It takes two tomatoes to make a really good bacon tomato sandwich.

I went with my daughter and son in law to the Red Lobster yesterday.  We had the 5 course meal for $15.  It was great.  I had soup, Caesar  salad, breaded shrimp, loaded baked potato and key lime pie.  I was so stuffed.  You see I am trying to eat enough for my twin  and me.  Anyway, if you get a chance to go to the Red Lobster do try this special.  And the cheese biscuits, I could make a meal on them alone.

The scanner part of my printer has never worked properly.  I should have returned it immediately (2 years ago).  My old scanner which I really liked wouldn’t work with Windows 7 so tomorrow I am heading out to staples to buy a new scanner.

I am trying to decide what to cook for lunch today, not really hungry after overeating yesterday.  I got some pork chops out of the freezer but I think I am too lazy to fix them.  I am sick as I can be of TV dinners, in fact I haven’t bought any for a few weeks now.

I have my iPod on the Bose speaker playing now and it is playing a Christmas song, Chestnuts roasting on an open fire.  I guess that is what I need to cool me off.  I have over 5000 songs on this iPod having taken my favorite songs from my hundreds of CDs.

Now it is time to read the paper and find out what is happening in central Illinois.

  1. ooooh! I do that all the time---take my fav songs from CD's and put them on an MP3 player or CDs that I play in my car. I have 20 self-recorded CDs in my car to date. And when December hits, I play only the Christmas ones for the entire month! Love my music!!! The Red Lobster outing sounds like a good one. Wish we had one closer---our closest is over 1 1/2 hours away. boooo. I remember being single and only really cooking on weekends just for a treat! HA! Now if I DON'T cook for a weekend, that's a treat! Enjoy the day!

  2. What a way to cool off in that heat. Listening to Christmas song. Well soon you will be eating those delicous tomatoes. In that heat I would be having way more shakes made in the blender with lots of fruit and some juice and vanilla yogurt. That's our lunch on a really hot day. Have a wonderful week. Hugs Carrie

  3. the last time I needed ink cartridges for my Canon all in one (printer, scanner, copier) machine I went to Walmart and wonder of wonders I found a Kodak all in one machine, with cartridges, for $1.99 less than the price for a pair of Lexmark cartridges! As if that wasn't enough, ink lasts longer in the Kodak and a pair of replacement cartridges cost less than a single color cartridge for the Canon! I am still a diehard Canon fan as far as cameras go but my Canon all in one is gathering dust on a shelf in the spare room and all our printing is done on the Kodak!

  7. As long as were talking food, I went out for breakfast this morning and had an omlette with ham and swiss, hash browns orange juice and coffee. Then I went out and spent more money after Saturday's spending spree. I spent more money yesterday in one day than I have ever spent. Details in my next blog entry.

Your hot weather is heading my way. Today was just perfect. 80's, cloudless blue sky and no humidity.
    Pass me a tomato.

Red Lobster... love their biscuits!!! *drool* Also their garlicy shrimp! But unfortunately, I do not to get to go very often. The commercials always make me want to go... but it is just tooooo far. Love crab legs. MMMmmm. But I would take your home cooking over a visit to Red Lobster any day!
Happy shopping for your new scanner... hope you continue to enjoy your music.

  11. opps, I am sitting out on my front porch with my laptop and I just hit the wrong button. Reminds me of the old windows live spaces when you could only write so many words and then you would have to send another message to finish your comment. This time it was my fault. :)

Sounds like you had alot of good eats in the last few days. We went to Swiss Challet for dinner and I had a hot chicken sandwich with fries and veggies. Then I had to come home and take Jesse for a long walk to wear some of it off. Wish I could have donated a few extra pounds to Carole. If I am not careful, I will faint next time I get on the scales. Ha!
Well I had better head on out of hear before I write a bok. Ha!
Have a great week Beth and enjoy those tom and bacon sandwiches. They sure sound yummy. Think I need to head on down to farmers market this week and get me some fresh toms.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit and leaving your nice comment.
    Hugs, Dianne :)

  13. Our heat hasn't been nearly that bad though it sometimes creeps near the low nineties...mostly it's in the eighties and I'm just fine with that. I love those biscuits at Red Lobster! I haven't been there for a while but sure love that! My song collection is now at 10,075 songs...Daughtry is playing at the moment and I'm loving that! Bless you my friend.
