New Update..

My brother Bill suffered a stroke.  That is the diagnosis after all tests were completed.  He has lost all memory of events that occurred up until the time this happened.  He recognizes his wife and my voice and Rae’s.  He still has a tremendous headache and for the life of me I can’t understand why the hospital can’t take care of that.  I learned to be aggressive during Jim’s hospital stays and I think (my own personal opinion) that he should be moved to St Louis.  During a hospital stay we need someone to be our voice.

Some of you have asked what I am having done tomorrow.  It is called a kidney stenosis and involves a 6 hour lie flat period after the procedure.  I have been through this before so I know what to expect and because I know what to expect I am not looking forward to this, I just want it over and done with.  I am counting on the dear Lord to have a firm hold on my right hand tomorrow.  Thank you again for all prayers for my family and for me.

Beth

  2. Oh Beth I'm so sorry. I pray he gets the proper medical care and that he has a full recovery.
Wishing and hoping all goes well with you tomorrow and for your brother. I don't know what that test is like or if it's painful, I hope not! Good luck and I hope you get only good reports.

  4. Sis I will be there holding your left hand and know that I am and will be thinking and praying for you. What your instinct is telling you, YOU should speak your mind. I think you are probably right to have him transferred to a larger place maybe. Know it will be a hard time for you all. HUGS to you all

  8. I join the others that are with you in this Beth. I don't blame you for not looking forward to the procedure that you need to have done on top of the things with your brother. God bless and keep you through this time.

  9. oooh, am sorry to hear that and i am glad that he is able to recognize his family. My sis had a stroke as well if you remember reading and major headaches was one of the signs. They have to watch the headaches, he needs to get brain scans to make sure there is no bleeding in the brain.

Take care have a good week and i'll keep your brother in my prayers.

you take care, glad you are feeling better.

  14. Yes, we need someone to watch over us and speak for us when we are in the hospital. So very true. I have had others be my voice a couple of times and have been the voice for my son (severe congenital heart defects) many times over the years until he got married. I am blessed that he married a woman I trust with his life. :)

I hope all goes well and those hours go quickly for you.
    *hugs and prayers*

  16. I'm sorry to hear about your Brother. We are praying for him here. I think you are right about being more agressive about his medical care. Go for it. once they see that their are many people looking out for him they suddenly give more attention. sad but true. Good luck with that test...It sounds very uncomfortable. The one test I hated more than anything was the contrast MRI. I would close my eyes and pray the whole time. You and your brother will be in my prayers.
    Blessings, Joanne

  18. Seems like there's bad news all around today when I came on... On facebook this morning I've been reading that Carol Ward passed away on October 16th, I've just noticed she made a comment on this post above before passing later that day.... Whenever bad news comes it seems to come on here and just seems to go on endlessly....

  19. I'm sorry to hear about your brother. You are right you have to ask a lot of questions at the hospital. Keep after them. I learned this when my mother was in the hospital in 2004.
A six hour procedure! Yikes! I am sending you healing thoughts to ensure all goes well with you and your brother. I know these are highly stressful times.
I see the Cardinals made the World series. I will root for them since my Red Sox have gone down in shame and flames. What a mess!
    Good luck Beth and
