Day Twenty Eight…

and I have just about made it.  Only 3 more days to go and I will have posted every day for a whole month.  Whew!!

It is cold and clear this morning checking in at 25 degrees.  I am so loving the mild temps  and best of all no snow.   As you can see from the picture below that I took this morning, the grass in my front yard is still green.

I did get the vacuum out yesterday even though I had no one come in to help me.  The only volunteer I had was from England and the reason he volunteered was because he thought he fancied eating at Grumpy Pete’s.  lol

I am not sure what I am going to do this morning.  I would like to go out and look around in the stores some more.  I was out yesterday and the traffic was bumper to bumper and the people were wall to wall.  Even that way at the grocery store.  I will be glad when the kids go back to school and the people go back to work so that I can walk around in the stores without bumping in to anyone.

I have my Christmas decorations all put away for another year and my living room is back to normal.  It looks bare in here now.

Do you have plans for New Year’s Eve?  I don’t.  If you do remember to not drink and drive.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. Hey Sis I volunteered to help I just had no way to get there..hah! :D
Yes it was green here yesterday too until about 3 pm and then we got some flurries. Coldest morning of this whole winter so far this morning. Wind died down so at least the chill is over too. I agree too crowded in the stores just yet. Not shopping much at all.Not going out, staying in and reflecting over what the year was as a whole.Praying for 2012 to be a healthy one for you too as always..

  2. It's good to see the green green grass. I ventured into the supermarket Christmas Eve and wish I hadn't , what a carry on. It was misty and raining to boot . Hugs Sheila and Wile-e xx

  3. You've still got green grass! Wow!
Whatever you do today, have a good time and be safe and warm.
I always have my own little New Year's Eve thing by myself to greet the new year. I'll take pictures--LOL! ;)

  4. I should try posting every day for a month. I have a problem doing it once a week lately. Congrats on making it to the end.
I'd be happy to have an entire winter with no snow. I wonder if that's ever happened?
No plans for me for New Year's Eve so fart anyway. I might pop up and spend some time with my sisters but who knows.
I should go and take my decorations down and put away too but busy making potato soup right now. Love that stuff.
Well, have a great day Beth with whatever you do. Take care!

  5. There was a day when I could have imagined putting up a blog every day...well maybe not. These days the once a week sort of schedule suits me just fine. I admire your dedication! I've avoided the shopping rush and now look to celebrate the New Year...mostly because my youngest turns six on New Year's Eve. Today the trash goes out and I likely will take down the tree etc. as of Thursday. Bless you my friend.

  6. I like your new background, I must take my Christmas one off too, though I do admit to being quite fond of it. I will also take the decorations and cards down, but I'll leave them till the week end, especially the cards, as you can't see the dust. :-)
Nothing planned for New year, sacrilege eh? for a Scot, but as I now reside in England, it's just not the same. Now I wonder if this will publish.

  8. Happy New Year, Beth. We always stay home and Jim goes to bed early like always. I will work on the computer and then read myself to sleep. We'll both be asleep by midnight. But when we wake up the new year will have arrived anyway.

You have done well keeping up your blog. I should learn from you. bertieblue

  10. Beth did you watch that CBS show last night? I actually enjoyed it very much. I was so surprised During the singing of Sweet Caroline when they raised the backdrop and all those people were dressed as Red Sox fans. They play it at every Sox game. I had no idea that it was something known outside of New England.
I too vacuumed yesterday and cleaned the bathroom. What an exciting life I have.
