Just what do you do…

to fill a  boring afternoon??  You go searching for Rolo candy.

rolo candy (picture from the net)

That is if you want to have some on hand to make the delicious Rolo cookies.  No Rolo candy at Wal*Mart.  Walmart is such a giant store you would think there would be some there, but no, I  (actually my niece) found them at K Mart.  If you want an easy recipe this is it.  And they are delicious.

Rolos Cookies

From my friend Sandi.

•1 bag Rolos chocolates
•Mini pretzel twists
•Pecan halves

Lay pretzels on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Place 1 Rolo chocolate on top of each pretzel. Place in a preheated 250 degree oven for 3-4 minutes until chocolates are soft. Remove from oven and press a pecan half into each softened chocolate. Cool and remove from pan.

In case you all are wondering what all I do with the stuff, well I parcel it out to the mail lady, the garbage man, and the list goes on. If it is something I really like I might eat some of it, usually not.

I woke up this morning at 5 and finally got up at 5:30.  I t is 37 degrees and very cloudy.  The rain is to start by afternoon and continue through the night and tomorrow.  I keep telling myself that rain is so much better than snow.

And now I need to decide what to do with this rainy day that the good Lord has blessed me with.  You all stay safe and be happy.

Beth

  1. I have found it is hard to find Mounds Candy bars. The Almond ones are eary but not the Mounds. You would not believe where I usually find them. The local hardware store, Ace. Just doesn't make sense to me.

    Those cookies sound gooooooood!

  2. Good Morning Beth :) No rain here. In fact it's suppose to get to 42 and I'm not complaining about that. So far it's been a pretty mild winter :))). Take care now and have a great day!

  3. Hello dear Beth!
It has been raining for several days. We have had flooding on some streets in the center, it resembles real autumn weather. On the west coast, we have not had any snow yet. There is both good and bad with snow. It is so light and fine, but it may be difficult with the traffic if it becomes slippery.
    Wish you continued great week!
    Take care
    Hugs

  5. Ooo those candies sound good. I do love Rolos just as they are. Cloudy and grey here, but rain is moving in tonight and tomorrow. Oh well, better than snow in my estimation.

  6. Still quite cold here at about 20 degrees at the moment. It would be the weirdest year ever to get rain at this point. We've made several kinds of cookies lately but nothing like your recipe here! Wow!

  7. Blessings Beth: hope you are well and your health is good. Rolo hunt huh, hmmmmmm, its irritating when you want something and its all out. Mine is the carbury hazelnut chocolate bar, i was hunting for it when it was on sale for $125 and for two weeks nothing everytime i went to the store, luckily i was smart enough to get a rain check.

Take care of you, stay blessed.

  13. Oh, man! My sister in law used to get so mad when I'd take her kids to the store with me because I was still wild and single then and would buy them anything they wanted. Who knew that giving toddlers an entire roll of Rolos would cause diarrhea?
