The rain has stopped…

and it is 41 degrees this morning.  Not sunny but not totally dark either like it was yesterday.  We got the equivalent of 24 inches of snow yesterday (2 inches of rain.)  There is a chance of rain or snow on Monday and Tuesday.  I am  crossing my fingers for Christmas Eve so that my son can get here safely.

I made the Rolo cookies/candies yesterday.  They are so easy to make and look so pretty.  I was able to get 48 on one cookie sheet.

I still have to make my cookies for the cookie exchange next Monday night and some fudge then I will be all done.

As soon as I am off here I need to go to the grocery store and get a few things.  Few things when I go to the grocery store amounts to $50 or more.    I will catch you all later.

Beth.

  1. I know the "few things" experience. Seems it always costs more than you planned. The cookies do look delish. I'm with you on the snow thing, it can stay away until Christmas Eve.

  2. They do look good and easy is right up my alley. I finally made it to the store yesterday but I spent $50 plus $100. Have a great day Beth!

  3. Those cookies look delicious! Things do add up at the store - and considering how much prices have gone up over the past months, it's even worse. I used to always be able to get out of the store for right around $80 for the week, but now it's always up over $110.

  4. Wonderful! Should have had them at the bake sale I helped at last evening for Max's school band concert! We sold almost all our goodies---don't know how much we made yet, but things sure went fast---all home made goodies, too! Keep baking!!!

  5. I still can't imagine rain in December...we just don't have that...ever that I can remember. I'm glad it cleared some. Those cookies look like they'd clear up any gloomy day!

  6. Know the feeling all too well...the clerks asks "did you find everything?" and I say YES and a whole lot more than I went for. Candies look great.. Hope the exchange goes well. No rain here very windy and cloudy though. :-)

  9. I'm not allowed to go to the grocery store without adult supervision......and a restraint jacket.

  10. I seldom get away with only the stuff I went for. That candy looks so good and I could put away several. We haven't had much rain, just sprinkles. They seldom get it right anyhow.

  11. We had a tiny, tiny bit of snow while I slept. Dark day here, which made for good day sleeping--LOL!
I have to admit that even if I am not a big pretzel fan, those look really, really good! :)
Yes, my $50-70 a week doesn't go as far as it used to. But I am happy to have food on my table and that I can even make Christmas cookies if I want to. Life is good!

  12. All of your cookies sound sooo good. I don't cook much anymore. Oh well. I glitter decorated 7 tee shirts for gifts today. Had a relapse Tuesday night so I couldn't go to choir tonight. I have to be okay by Sunday as I'm lay reader for the first time in 30 years.

Glad you didn't get snow. Take care, good friend. Thanks for signing my blog. bertieblue.
