passing quickly on the countdown to Spring. Yesterday was a glorious day, topping out at 60 degrees in the late afternoon. It is 43 degrees this morning and supposed to reach upper 50s with rain this afternoon.
I was up early changing the bedding and starting the laundry. Not fun like yesterday when I went shopping around town.
Comments to my post yesterday indicated that most of you had never heard the song I was referencing. I know of several churches that have adapted that song for their own use. Bobby Bare is a country singer who had many hits in the 60s and 70s. Two of them being Detroit City and 500 Miles Away from Home. Jim and I saw him in concert several times. He has a toy store now in Nashville that sells teddy bears of all kinds and toys for children. Using his name, the store is called the Bare Trap.
Pushing ahead, I have another doctor appointment on Thursday. I did get a good report from one doctor this week but I have heard nothing about the sleep study.
I need to go check on the laundry. I hope you all are having a good week. Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
I remember Bobby Bare and his songs. Son used to love him and Tom T.Hall. Hope the news at this doctor is good also.
ReplyDeleteSo so glad Sis that you got a good report at your doctor. Makes my day.. sun shiiining here..wow I love this winter so far.. gonna hate when the cold comes back. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteIronically enough though I'm a Montanan I don't listen to country at all...never have. Between that and not being a football fan I can find things to be pretty slim pickings sometimes! Actually I have other interests that occupy my time the trouble is I don't often find people that are into the same things...at least not so much on-line. It has been a glorious couple days...I am amazed at it still. I can't say that I've ever witnessed a January like it. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got a good report from your DR. And I hope the Thursday appt. brings good news.I remember the song Detroit City.
ReplyDeleteI hope to goodness it goes well Thursday. And that you get a break from these incessant appointments.
ReplyDeleteToday is an unbelievable day! It is so warm I took off my coat as I walked outside! Crazy weather but I will take this rather than that record snowfall we had last year! Have a great day Beth, glad to hear that you are getting good reports from your Doctor.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joanne
Love it...and I do remember this song.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got a good report from the doc and keeping you in my prayers for more of the same.
Almost 60 here, and yesterday was crazy warm...49 days, huh?? lol
Goodness! 60 degrees! Well, it is 30 up here, so I shouldn't be too surprised, I guess. I'd have my windows open all afternoon! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeleteOne good report is great, hope you get another.
Hugs - Nita
It's been warm here as well but not as warm as at your place. Hope your reports are good. Take care Beth.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a very unusual winter! We in the north are probably experiencing the temperatures and amount of snow that would be found in Alabama, Mississippi, all the southern states. I love it, but I can't help but feel that we will pay for this somehow - bad spring, bad summmer, more storms, somehow we'll pay for it. So happy you have one good report. Hope the remainder of them are also.
ReplyDelete63 this afternoon in the shade outside. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got a good report. Enjoy your evening.
Hi Beth so pleased hear you got good reports at the Doc's. Hope the same applies to Thursday's appt. It's freezing here with lovely sunshine hope we don't get any snow. Take care and good luck tomorrow. Hugs Sheila and Wile-e xx
ReplyDeleteI do remember 500 miles away from home.
ReplyDeleteI wish it would get warmer here, it's getting colder, but I did get the washing outside and it's dried, it smells so fresh with the cold. good luck with the doc appointment.
I know! The weather has been so nice. We were in the 50's today. I wish I was in the 50's. Such a mild winter so far. I was reminded today, that for us in my area, this happened in 2007 as well. An extremely low amount of snow. I've only had to wipe about an inch off my car once so far.
ReplyDeleteGlad you checked out ok my friend.
