till Spring, although it is nothing like spring outside this morning. We are having a mixture of sleet, drizzle and snow this morning. The wind is whipping around and the temp is 30 degrees. Supposed to change to all snow this afternoon with steadily falling temperatures.
I have been out this morning to Wal*Mart and Food Depot. I got a vey late start on the day as I didn’t wake up until almost 8AM. I think I must be trying to get caught up on the sleep I missed Saturday night. It is so dreary out that I came right back home. I had thought about eating at 8th Street Station/aka Grumpy Pete’s but it is too nasty outside.
So I think I will make some Rice Krispy treats for my SIL as I have some marshmallows I need to use up. Those don’t tempt me so it is safe to make them.
The following are thoughts to live by from Griffith University, AU.
“It is really quite simple. The 'secret' turns out to be nothing more than good sense. Here are some ways that you can improve the quality of your life if you apply them honestly in your life. You should of course ignore any that don't feel right to you.
If you are like me and have read and listened to self-improvement books and cassettes, you will probably recognize the major themes present in practically all such self-improvement products. In any event, have a read down the list. At the very least, it will raise a chuckle.”

#27 is my favorite, what is yours?
Beth
The countdown progresses no matter what the weather...aren't you glad? It's been below zero with record breaking snow here...quite a change from the easy breezy winter it's been thus far. We sit under a winter storm warning right now tries to belie the progression of time...but I'm not buying it! LOL! Have a great day my friend!
ReplyDeleteSnowing here and roads are very slippery. Hope the weather pays as much attention to spring as the calendar does. Late spring snow storms are the pits.
ReplyDelete34 is my favorite, because I do believe that God answers prayers. And I LOVE home-made Rice Krispy treats....I may just have to make some when I get home tonight!
ReplyDeleteGod does indeed answer prayers, not always in the way we had hoped but in a way that is better.
DeleteLove your blog today. I also love the old music that you have playing. Sounds like it is from the 40's and 50's, great stuff.
ReplyDeleteThank you Horst. I love the music from when I was young, brings back good memories for me.
DeleteMy boys love rice crispy treats, I'm the same can let them sit there! hehe love them!
ReplyDeleteHi Beth
ReplyDeleteTried to post before, but it wouldn't let me, probably because I forgot to sign in - lol - So I go for numbers 5 and 19, but above all number 34, because I really believe in the power of prayer, but you are right, our prayers are not always answered the way, we want or expect, but He knows best.
Hugs Nita.
Hi Beth, that is quite a list but most of it seems to make good sense. I know what you mean when say you just wanted get home. Working outdoors as I do makes me appreciate the indoors when the weather is a bit grim.
ReplyDelete12! Others too but 12 for the single answer. xoxox
ReplyDelete#13, but I never remember to do this at the time...lol I've not had rice krispy treats in ages, but I'd be tempted.
ReplyDeleteI like 27 and 34. Interesting! Stay warm and cozy. Bertieblue
ReplyDeleteI love too many of them! They're great and true.
ReplyDeleteIt's 2 degrees here. Stay warm. Those rice kripsie bars wouldn't be safe with me around--LOL! ;)
My favourite is the last one!
ReplyDeleteHow very sensible they all are and basic to human life. Why do we ever forget them?
Great post Beth 11,12, 13, 25, are my favourites. But most of are true anyhow. Have a good day and stay warm . Hugs Sheila and Wile-e xx
ReplyDeleteNo 30 for me Beth, I've always instilled into my girls that family is the most important tie you'll ever have, and if a disagreement arises, walk away before it develops into a real argument and could go further. Hope the sleet will soon disappear
ReplyDeleteI think it would have to be #12. We've had a smattering of snow and will get a bit more in the next couple of days. So far it's been an ok winter but I'm sure this will eventually change.
ReplyDeleteYes the number you chose is a good one. But I also like #30. Actually they are all good in their own way.
