Am I awake yet???

Not sure as I had a sleep study done at the hospital last night for sleep apnea.  I had little wires connected to my head with paste and a band around my chest to do an ekg and another band to measure the respiratory readings.  Plus a lot of other things connected with leads.  All together an unpleasant night.   I couldn’t wait to get home to wash my hair and take a shower.

According to the World Health Organization approximately 100 million people worldwide have OSA (sleep apnea). In the
United States, OSA is estimated to affect 1 in 4 men and 1 in 9 women; and affects 23 million working adults.
Approximately 4% of men and 2% of women over the age of 35 years have symptomatic moderate or severe
OSA, affecting approximately 12 million people in the United States.  It is estimated that less than 25% of
OSA sufferers have been diagnosed,

One of my friends that I have had since I started blogging  along with her husband make many beautiful items out of wood.  Nancy is having a give away at her blog.  Please visit her, look at her beautiful items, leave a comment, follow her, and you will be entered in the drawing.

I am exhausted.  I just made a run to the store to get necessary items like bananas and Lean Cuisine.  Also some chicken as I am thinking chicken and dumplings on Tuesday.  Tomorrow after my lab I am going out for breakfast so I won’t be hungry.

My direct order (remember I worked for the military) for you all is to stay safe and be happy!!

I about forgot the countdown again,  it stands at 58 days!!

  1. Hi Beth, I don't imagine you got much sleep with all those wires, etc. Hope you have a restful day and all goes well for you with all the tests.
Have a great week ahead and the chicken and dumplings sounds delicious..
    Hugs, Dianne :)

  2. Sounds like something to keep you awake instead of checking your sleep. I still think my husband has it but the doctor asked him some questions and says no. I think I should have been with him as he doesn't know what I hear and how often I have to make him move onto his side. Chicken and dumplings is my very favorite thing. We have a place here that makes the best and biggest dumplings you ever saw.

  3. "I I captain!"
Thank you for the shout out. I am really happy making toys and other items.
I know too many people who wear oxygen at night. Their bodies just stop breathing for periods of time then they feel sooo tired during the day. I actually do deep breathing before I go to bed for years now. If nothing else it builds muscles, heh. I hope the tests turned out fine. Did you feel like Franenschtien all wired up? That must have been miserable.

  4. I've often wondered about those sleep tests and if people have a hard time getting to sleep. I don't think I could sleep with all that connected to me.
Did you say chicken and dumplings! My that sounds good and I haven't made that for a long long time. I might just have to get a chicken out of the freezer this week and make it.

  5. Oh gosh Beth..I didn't realize you had an appointment that soon. Did you sleep at ALL???

  6. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a couple of years ago and use a Cpap machine most of he time. When I first told my friends in our small group, I learned that all but 3 of them used the same kind of machine, and one of those was diagnosed about 3 weeks later. It makes a big difference, but I'm not using it during my eye surgeries for obvious reason's. The second eye surgery is scheduled for tomorrow.
Let us know your diagnosis. bertieblue

  7. I wouldn't doubt I could have it. I have one girlfriend who sleeps with a Cpap machine so I have heard about them. She told me about how hard it was to sleep away from home hooked up to all the equipment! I hope you find out soon one way or the other.
Your friend makes nice things, too, BTW. That grasshopper is so cute! No little ones in the family, though. ;)

  8. Beth, I hate to hear this, but at least you can have the cpap to help.

I welcome your comments! Because of a lot of spam I am monitoring comments. :-)
