Friday and 74 days till Spring…

It is another gorgeous day here in central Illinois.  The sun is shining and it is 35 degrees.  Supposed to get to the mid 50s today.  So far this winter we have had only 6 tenths of an inch of snow.  Last winter we had almost 56 inches of snow.  I am so loving this.

I have been asked what kind of tree was in the photo I took.  Arlene thought it might be a lime tree.  I checked Google and found that in America they are called linden or basswood trees.  The shape appears to be the same but I don’t believe they are the same tree.  I will keep a close watch on it as Spring approaches.

My daughter and niece are coming to have lunch with me today.  It will be soup and sandwiches, something easy.  So I guess that means no housecleaning for me today.  Smile

I hope you are all gearing up for a great weekend.  Stay safe and be happy!!

  4. That looks nothing like the trees in our parts and I'm not near the expert my grandparents were on such things. My favorite trees around here right now are the evergreens because everything is so brown and leafless then you see the strong green of those pines and it reminds that beneath it all there really is life! Have a great lunch Beth, sounds like fun!

  5. Lunch with family sounds fun! I will be taking my first Carleigh's Tree picture on January 8th. :) I'm trying to decide what would be a good time, as I know it's supposed to be around the same time of day each month, but there are certain days of the week I have to be out and about, so figuring out the hour that I'm always here will be interesting. :)
