Did you ever…

start a post only to have it go into the big cyber space in the sky, never to be seen or heard from again?  I started my post and had to leave the computer for awhile and now my brilliant post is gone.  So being the good soldier I am I will start over again.

Want to know who’s corrupt?  Illinois ranks third in the nation according to a University of Illinois study released Wednesday. http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/political-fix/study-finds-illinois-third-most-corrupt-state/article_e5038a26-5812-11e1-bf8d-001a4bcf6878.html\”Illinois .

“The study which looked at public corruption statistics and data  the U.S. Department of Justice has gathered since 1976, also listed Chicago and its metropolitan area as the most corrupt federal district in the country.”  Now isn’t that something to be proud of??  If only the Chicago area didn’t weigh the rest of the state down.  lol

Well, I have lived here most of my life and unless something unforeseen happens I will die here too.

And speaking of that, my doctor visit yesterday was good.  I passed my stress test with great results.

While my daughter and I were out on her birthday we stopped at McDonald's for a drink before we went to lunch.  We were sitting at the back near the rest room area when a lady walked by and started talking to the couple in front of us.  She told them that she hadn’t noticed them on her way to the rest room.  She said she came to this particular McDonald’s because it was out of the way and she thought she wouldn’t run in to anyone she knew that would bother her.  She then proceeded to yak away for awhile until which time the gentleman seated told her that was why they came to this place too.  OH, she said, sorry, and just hurried away like a house on fire.  I couldn’t help it, I burst out laughing.  I am a people watcher and I had noticed that this couple looked a bit mismatched, he being older and she appearing much younger.  Rendezvous??  lol

Only 32 days left till Spring.  Break out the bathing suits.

In the meantime, I am off to pay some bills.  Stay safe, be happy, and have a great weekend!

Beth

  1. Hi Beth,

Think goggle is doing its own thing again, anyway.

Pleased your doctor's result was a good on.

Hope you have a happy weekend too.

  2. Enjoy your weekend! It's spring-like here with trees budding and the bees abuzzing. Chicago has always been notorious for crooked politics---i.e. the Dalys. But I lived there for almost 10 years and love the rest of the state!

  4. I love it when I have a post almost all the way typed and then my computer automatically shuts down for some ridiculous, unforeseen reason! Fortunately, Blogger does save auto drafts here and there, but it usually fails to capture everything I've written.

The McDonald's story is too funny! It's hilarious that she came there to "get away" from people who bother her, but then turns around and does what she dislikes to others. *giggle*

  5. I'm beginning to worry that this exceptionally mild winter we're having might be the prelude to a scorcher of a summer. Just to be on the safe side I think I'll have all of the air conditioners (house and vehicle) serviced ..... just in case.

  9. I'm also very glad to hear of your positive doctor's report! Good for you! I thought that was pretty funny about that McDonald's! The one we go to is always pretty busy but then again we don't go there often so I guess I don't mind. I like to watch people too...never a dull moment!

  12. Great news on the doctor's visit - isn't that a relief for a change. I'm sure that post that disappeared was brilliant too. That happened to me recently also - I had start one and thought I saved it. Apparently not, because I never did find it.

  16. I'm forever losing my posts, too, but I finally figured out how to find them. I go to new post, then edit posts, and there they all are! I have a bunch of drafts saved that I'll probably never finish, but it is nice to know that they didn't disappear into never never land.

The McDonald's story is priceless! Too funny!

Thanks for keeping track of spring! I love seeing that number getting smaller and smaller!

  17. It's nice here too. That link to the web page page expired. Too bad. I was curious about Massachusetts. We have a lot of government here. Some it is good and some of it not so good.
Good to hear you passed your test.
Pretty funny story about the lady in McDonalds.
So McDoanlds serves alchohol now? What did you have. Beer? Wine? A shot of whiskey? Just curious.
I'm off to Boston now. I will be back later on my catch up tour.
