old pictures, my WV sis sent me some pictures yesterday that were taken when they had their cabin at Lake Cumberland KY in the 80s. Oh my, what fun we had there . Sure brings back memories. My brother in law built the cabin himself. You could stand on the back deck and see all kinds of wild life.
A picture of Jim and me taken at Lake Cumberland.
Did I cry when I saw this picture? Well only a little bit. I really do miss my life partner. Instead of getting a bit better each year, it seems to be getting a bit worse. Probably because I am having one health issue after another to deal with.
It was pouring down rain when I got up this morning. Now the sun has come out and it is drying off a bit. Still only 34 degrees and supposed to climb to the lower 40s today. On Tuesday it reached 72 degrees but the wind was gusting so hard you couldn’t enjoy the warmth. I think we are to see temps in the 70s next week. The countdown to Spring stands at 11 days.'
What have I got planned for today? Not a whole lot. Anyone that wants to come and help me clean, feel free.
Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
Memories are good though Beth, sorry you are missing him so much.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely picture.
ReplyDeleteOf course it would make you feel a wee bit down. Wouldn't be natural, if it didn't.
And of course, it's hard to really heal and come to terms with the loss of a life partner.... When having health problems. -sigh- When such things are *hitting,* is when we really need a shoulder to lean on and a hand to hold.
Lots and lots of gentle hugs,
"Auntie"
It must be harder to be going through all the health stuff alone when you were used to having somebody there with you through thick and thin. But he's still there with you. ;) Best wishes! And I hope you get your 70s again next week. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd if anyone offers to come over and help you clean.... Please don't wear them out. I need them to come over here after your place, and at least get me started on my own cleaning.
ReplyDeleteI make great plans, but don't follow through. Bleahhhhhhhhhh... :-)
I need a lot of push, from some GREAT cleaner! LOL.
Oh and yes, I know about the Fly Lady. Even she can't push me.
ReplyDeleteWell, to be honest, I delete her daily emails to me.
-looking ashamed-
-grinnnnn- See how *bad* I am???? lol...
That is a nice picture of you and your hubby. Don't be too hard on yourself. You have had a lot of changes in the past year + and the health issue isn't helping either. HUGS
ReplyDeleteLovely picture Beth ..Hope the doc's appointment turned out ok for you. Good weather here I Spring cleaned instead of going in the garden. One room at a time looking good.
ReplyDeleteHugs Sheila and Wile-e xx
Blessings my friend, hope you are in good health and being inspired by life. Just dropped in to wish you a fantastic day.
ReplyDeleteMemories/old picks- good ones a soul enriching.
stay blessed.
My dad passed away 4 years ago, and my mom still misses him, even though she has a boyfriend who is 93 years old; she and my aunt go to church every Sunday morning, Sunday night, Tuesday morning, and Wednesday night; they go every Tuesday afternoon to visit the nursing homes; they go shopping every Thursday; she got a new puppy; and she has someone come clean her house once every two weeks. I can still call her and out of the blue, she will cry because she still misses my dad. So, I understand. It's okay to miss Jim.
ReplyDeleteHi Twin..much love and comforting hugs. xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteI get sentimental too when I look at old pictures.

I honestly often avoid old pictures for the memories that come up. I can imagine it being difficult with health issues and all for you, I pray that you come through all of this a stronger person. Bless you my friend.
