Sunday morning…

and the sun is shining brightly down on this one particular city in the heart of Illinois.  Yep, this city is right smack dab in the very center of Illinois.  Now in my lifetime I have lived in Western IL, Central IL and Eastern Illinois.  Forgot to mention that I was born in Southeastern Missouri.

It is 27 degrees and here it is 9 AM and I haven’t received the Peoria Journal Star.  I am not too happy about that as the paper is part of my Sunday morning routine.  It has been over an hour since I called the paper and reminded them of that fact.

I did cook yesterday  as I said I would and my tummy protested later as it is used to TV dinners and I fed it a pork chop, mac’n’cheese, green lima beans and even some pineapple cobbler for dessert.  Today I will put most of the leftovers in the freezer.

Today is my niece’s birthday.  Happy birthday Sue!!

Nothing new to report here, except I am very glad to be alive on such a beautiful sunshiny day.  I hope the sun is shining for you all no matter what part of the world you are living in.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

P. S.  the countdown to Spring stands at 15 days!

  1. Sunny and cold here..but no snow and that makes me happy. Your dinner sounds great, even the leftovers! Ever so grateful for what we have and still praying for those who lost so much in the past few days. Happy Birthday to SUE..

  2. I lived in Illinois for almost 10 years---went to North Central College (Naperville) in the 70's and lived there until 1980. Like Illinois a lot and would love to live there again. Southern Illinois is especially beautiful---we went down to the Spoon River Festival years ago when our college performed a melodrama (I played piano, of course!). Hope winter is nearly over and we have an early spring---our flowers are confused here with the warm days and freezing nights!

  4. Beth, Having lived all the different areas in Illinois and Missouri, I admit it is beautiful. However, after living 52 years in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, I have to say we have some beautiful country at my front door. Bye now. Come see me and we will check out the scenery. Me

    1. Forgot to say, nothing can compare to the Appalachian Mountains. Illinois is very bland in comparison! I also love Kentucky. I think it is the most beautiful state of all.

  7. I would love to meet you Annie and I know you are a fab cook!

The door is always open and the light's on in the hall. Or is that a line to an old country song I have running through my mind.

  8. I hope you got your paper shortly after you posted this! My aunt is the same way. She's used to reading her morning paper with her coffee. ;)

I hope it was a warm, sunny day for you. Light snow up here all day. Lovely little flakes dancing lazily about in the wind. Pretty in a different way. :)

  13. And a belated Happy Birthday wish to Sue!!! :-)

Thank you Dear One, for coming to visit my blog, and for wanting to Follow me. I too, am Following your blog. But not in any of those old or new-fangled-ways of Following. -grin-

Old ways of Following ceased to work for me, and have not investigated new ways. I have the PURRRRFECT way, for me. I made a private, separate blog... On which I link to the blogs I want to read/comment in. I have my own link to it, on my regular blog. (I call it "My Little Posse") So it's easy for me to check for new posts on these blogs.

But it's also private. I prefer not to show a list of such blogs, on my sidebar. So that no feelings will be hurt, if I no longer resonated with a blog, and no longer read it. -sigh-

Anyway, just saying... You won't see my name on any list of your Followers. But I am out there! :-)
