Late again…

I have been busy this morning.  Laundry and then another trip to grocery shop with my daughter.  We about cleaned the store out along with a few dozen other people.  it actually was hard to get around in the store this morning because of the shoppers and all the workers stocking the shelves.
I noticed again as I went by the Baptist church on the corner as I turn to go to my daughter’s house that the parking lot was full of people waiting to get food.  I feel so very fortunate!  I am very thankful for all of my blessings and I do not take them for granted.  There but for the grace of God go I.
If you are noticing my new autism background, it is because I am very interested in autism,  I have a niece that is autistic and this really strikes home for me.  I think something like 1 child in 88 will be born with some form of autism.    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002494/   Now you know where a good chunk of money (if I ever were to have a good chunk) would go.  Cancer research and autism are the two causes I would support.  April is autism awareness month.
It is chilly, cloudy and windy today at 52 degrees.  We are expecting a hard freeze tonight.  I don’t have my tomato planted yet so I am not worried about that yet.
I hope you all have a wonderful Good Friday.  Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth

  1. Goodness! We are warmer than you are...at least tonight. We're only supposed to be in the low 40s. No frost or freezing warnings. It was so warm for a while. I think the birds must be confused, poor things. They were building nests.

I've always wondered if all the different birth defects and autism we are seeing isn't due in great part to all the chemicals they add to the food these days, which didn't exist 50-60 years ago.

I count my blessings, too, Beth! Every day! :)

  2. Cancer & Autism - two worthy causes to support. I too am grateful for my blessings. A person doesn't have to look far to find someone in need.

BTW: Noticed the Pekin, Il clock on your sidebar. Most of my family lives or has lived in and around Peoria, Pekin, and the Manito area. I love that area of the state.

  4. I see the drama over the winner of the big lottery here recently and feel glad for my simple life without a doubt...that plus health...no price tag could ever be put on that. It's quite cool again here and I'm not happy to see that stretching through the weekend. Easter is often like that but thankfully nothing can take away my gratitude for what it's all about! Bless you my friend.

  6. I agree, cancer and autism are good candidates for funding and research. Nearly every year I have at least one student who is on the autism spectrum. It can be challenging to find what works for them. They are usually some of my favorite kids. (I don't really have favorites, but my heart goes out to any kids with special needs, and I work extra hard with them.)

    Enjoy Easter weekend.
