Busy on a Tuesday…

No running around for me today.  I have changed the bedding and have the laundry going.  Somebody cleaned up the poopiedoop from the birds and put some kitty litter on the floor under the nest so I was able to get in the laundry room.  As soon as the laundry is done I am dragging out the dreaded sweeper and doing some cleaning and waxing the furniture.  I really need something to motivate me.  Help??

I forgot when I bought the sewing machine (Singer) that I would need to buy some other things.  I gave away all of my patterns and material long ago.  There is no fabric store in town so I will have to go to Peoria for that.  Walmart has a limited supply of fabric.   Also the thread in my sewing box must be at least 15 or more years old so I need to buy some thread, material and a pattern.  I can see where this little venture of mine can turn out to be costly.  I am living by that old adage that says you can’t take it with you so who better to spend my money on than me.  lol  I do believe that Jim and I worked for it.

ad·age/ˈadij/

Noun:

A proverb or short statement expressing a general truth.

Synonyms:

saying - proverb - saw - byword - maxim – dictum

The weather is perfect this morning.  Bright sunshine and 60 degrees right now to reach the mid 70s.  Just perfect weather to run around and not do any cleaning.  Oh well, you can’t have everything you want.

Now time for me to check the laundry and then get busy with the cleaning.

Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. We have a very grey week ahead of us unfortunately. I've grown to really love the eighties that we've been having but like you say we can't always have what we want. I remember a nest that had some little birds in it when we were in Japan...right in the middle of the train station. They put some cones where the poo fell and cleaned it on occasion until the nest was empty...pretty eco friendly.

  2. When I have a day that I need to clean and don't want to, I always put on some good music with a beat. It motivates me to "boogie" around the house and get my chores done. Maybe that will work for you too! :)

  5. Well heck you're sounding more motivated then I am!

Our Walmart has limited also but the one in the next town has a large selection which makes it nice to buy things at a good rate.

Hope you have a great day!

  6. You sound quite ambitious, Beth! I have played bridge at the Senior Center, then I went out to lunch with fellow retired teachers! After a little grocery shopping at my very favorite market, now I am whiling away my time with catching up with blogs.
I still love the word study.:) I am reminded of a Word Study course I took in college.
That's another thing we could exchange at a mid-point, Beth. Patterns and fabric!:) I moved them all here eight years ago, and they are still here!:) Hobby Lobby here has a selection of fabrics and patterns.
It sounds like you are having a productive day.

    1. Nellie, you are a delight. You brought back memories of a friend I had in childhood named Nellie. I will have to google her and see if I can find her.

  7. I know what you mean about bird nests & droppings...
They make nests all around near our house every year & in Gene's tack room...
I love birds & like to watch them bathing in the bird bath & eating at the feeders...
I hope the rest of the week goes well for you..
    Hugs

  12. I do that too....buy something and then find that I must buy something else because of the first thing I bought....end up spending a fortune because I "saved" some money buying the first thing. This is usually how I end up redecorating my house. lol

  13. Got to have those cleaning days, too. Sounds like you will be going on a sewing supplies adventure pretty soon. ;) Wouldn't the thread be good? I've got thread decades old that I have used and it was just fine. I didn't think thread really got old if it was kept dry? Anyways, have fun! :)

  14. Beth my friend, first of all thank you for always being there. My blog appears to be dying in the vine but I can always count on you. Secondly, if you have a bit of money to spend, well then go ahead! Thirdly...well I don't have a thirdly. Have some fun. Dance on the tables! (That's just an expression.)
