Wurlitzer Prize Wednesday…

Today really should win a prize of some kind as it is so beautiful!  Bright sunshine and 54 degrees to reach mid to upper 70s.  It doesn’t get much better than that.

I woke up much too early this morning.  Even though I am used to the c-pap mask now some nights I still want to yank it off and throw it in the garbage.  Last night was one of those nights so at 5 AM I just got up.  The Peoria Journal Star was not here to greet me.  I still don’t have a regular carrier and after talking to the old carrier I can see why.  They are charged $1 off their salary for each time someone calls reporting a missed paper.  I never call until after 8 AM although the paper is supposed to be here by 6 AM.

And now what am I going to do.  First thing, I am going to get to the eye care place and get my new glasses adjusted.  They don’t fit right and I will bug them till they do.  At least the transition lens part and the distance part are perfect.  It is just reading the newspaper that I am having a problem with.

I did the grocery run at Kroger after I was finished with the dentist yesterday but I still missed a few things as I didn’t have my list with me.  I was shopping WILLY-NILLY and when I do that I spend money on stuff that I really don’t need and forget the stuff I do need.

wil·ly–nil·ly

  1. Willy Nilly is a word I haven't used in a long time..but it does describe my actions lately. I got up at 6 but the wind was blowing and I think that is why today. Didn't know prices of plants had went up so..probably NOT growing tomatoes this year but I sure do miss them when I don't. Hope you find all the items on your shopping list..half the time when I go they are out of what I want already on the sale list. Have a great rest of your week.
PS Did not like NCIS ending last night..but relieved to find that Ducky will be on the show next year.

    1. I didn't like that either. Just made me sick. I love Ducky and I wonder who all died in the explosion. This was all happening at the same time as my weather radio was going wild with a severe thunderstorm warning. Scared the poopiedoop out of me.

  2. lol....poopiedoop? lol willy-nilly...lol I am getting an education on here. The thing is when you add the definition and where the word originated from and why it was used, well you just ingrained a word into my memory and I will probably be looking for a way to use it today. I love poopiedoop! lol You are just too cute!

Hope they get those glasses adjusted perfectly soon! I also spend way too much at the store if I don't go in with a list and stick to it. If I take a list and get only what is on my list, I leave with money still in my account! Have a wonderful day!!!

  3. It's funny how sometimes they get the glasses just perfect the first time and need adjusting one or more time at other times. Hope yours is a one time adjustment.

I am not happy about NCIS either. If they have to lose someone make it be Vance. Even though I like him, he's not the most central figure like the others are. Even Jimmy isn't, but I like him too. Not real happy with NCIS L.A either. Callen and Hetty looking like their gone. Hate cliffhangers.

  4. I never used to take a list with me but now I always do. I really think you spend less money that way.
Hope your glasses get straightened out for you.
    Your weather sounds perfect.

  5. I've done better with sleep lately and surely hope that you can have more rest. I think little can bother me more than a lousy night's sleep. I have contacts and they just hurt when I can't get to sleep and have to wear them the next day. It's in the mid-eighties for us and I've been soaking that right up. It's really too dry but I am loath to complain, I like it warm! Have a wonderful day my friend.

  6. I always forget at least one thing ... lol my list can only help me if I remember to write it on there!

    LOVE the definition :)

  7. Happy Wednesday afternoon, Beth! I hope you have been successful in accomplishing what you have hoped for today.

Even with my list in my hands, I'm a bit "willy-nilly" with my grocery shopping at times.:)

This is a day of sunshine here! No rain in our forecast for the next few days.

  8. Loved your English lesson. Those are terms I have used frequently, so it was nice to hear an authentic definition.
