I love flowers! Jim did too. He had great luck with flowers and had built a rocked in flower garden all of the way around our back porch. My flowers and my garden are two of the things I miss the most from my old home. Although I would be remiss if I didn’t state again how much I miss the two car garage, the washer and dryer and the water softener. OOPS! I about forgot the second bathroom which was huge that we had built on to our house at the same time we added the back porch.
Here I have what I call a Concrete Garden. I have 2 tomato plants on the concrete slab next door to me. My neighbors (we all had homes and gardens in the past) have tried to make it cheery for us. The rain stopped a little bit ago and I went out and took pictures.
My tomato plant has several green tomatoes on it which you obviously can’t see from the picture. The second pic is of some plants that my next door neighbors planted.
Two doors down from me my neighbors are an older couple who moved here from Iowa to be close to their daughter who lives here. We have something in common because that is exactly why I sold my home and moved here two years ago.
It is Monday afternoon now and I did do a bit of cleaning today. I will finish this tomorrow morning.
Some pics from home.
It is Tuesday morning now and I have been up since 6 AM. I have laundry going with another load to go.
I have a doctor appointment this afternoon so I will close this off with a note to my bro in Boston. Take care of your leg and be good!! All of you, stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
Love the pictures. Anywhere you can plant some of use or beauty a joy to see.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers Beth your tomatoes are coming along nicely. Good Luck at the Doctor's , enjoy your week. Hope the sun shines for you , it's pretty miserable here today.
ReplyDeleteHugs Sheila and Wile-e xx
I really enjoy gardens...ours happens to be in pots too since the start of the season often has weather that demands either bringing plants in our covering them. It's another cloudy day here with continued road construction out front. Have a good one my friend.
ReplyDeleteI hated to mow the yard where we lived but boy do I miss the place to plant flowers and grow some tomatoes etc. I am sure you miss your neighbors most of all though. Just hated leaving them behind too. Hope things are okay at the docs!!
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks alot like mine, Beth. A hodgepodge of this and that. Love it! xoxo
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. I love your patio! The green of your surroundings looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good name for them--concrete gardens. I guess there are also deck gardens and balcony gardens when you rent. They are looking fine!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the doctors. :)
Your concrete garden is lovely. I used to have lots of gardens at my old house too and here in the townhouse just have a tiny front yard.
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well at the doctors for you.
Love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteYou are up too early my dear. Hope the doc apt went well!
P.S. Thank you again you are such a dear and so kind. As always you make me smile when I see your comments :)
Hi Beth,
ReplyDeleteGosh that 2 years has gone quickly.
Have a good week
Hugs Nita
It appears that you and your neighbors are doing a good job creating patches of color. Container gardening is not a bad idea when one doesn't have the yard space needed.
ReplyDeleteLaundry will fill my day on Wednesday.:)
I know these are not the kinds of gardens you and your neighbors would like, but you have all done wonders with what you have. I've had to give upj a lot of plants this year too because I simply can't take care of them anymore.
ReplyDeleteI think it is so cool that you have gotten together with your nieghbors to make yourselves a garden. Have a great day Beth!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joanne
Hi Beth, Nice to meet you! I am your newest follower. Your tomato looks good to me! I don't think we will plant a thing this year:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth. I'm doing ok. This will be the first day that I don't have anywhere to go or anything to do. I'm taking it easy for the next 6 days. Your concrete garden brings back many memories of the vegetable gardens my father would plant every year. One year he even planted watermellons. The never got very large but boy were they good. I did see one green tomato in the center of the picture when I biggified it.
ReplyDeleteDear Beth,
ReplyDeleteYou are gardens is all ways beautiful! I hope great day time came you soon.
Your flowers are pretty, Beth. Sounds like you've been really busy! I miss the garden we used to have too.
ReplyDeleteI have three green tomatoes. Tomorrow Katie will feature them. xox
ReplyDeletelove that big flowering bush!
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping in and leaving a comment! really appreciate it!!!
