This is what I received in the mail yesterday.
from my dentist’s office…and just look at the cutesy stamp and postmark.
Sorry Mr. Dentist, no matter how you cartoon it up and put a mom heart on the postmark I am still not wanting to come visit you. I honestly do have that right at the top of my list of things I hate to do. I have my teeth cleaned every 6 months. My mouth actually hurts for several days after. I used to have a coworker that loved to go to the dentist. I always thought she was a bit ditzy. lol

Silly or scatterbrained: "don't tell me my ditzy secretary didn't send you an invitation!"

I found the perfect stress relaxer for yesterday afternoon. I have this habit of putting leftover candy items in the freezer so they don’t tempt me. I found a small bag of red, white and pink M&Ms, part of a bag of peanut M&Ms, about 1/3 package of Nestles chocolate chunks and about 1 cup of walnuts. Using my trusty old Toll House cookie recipe and these goodies found in my freezer I made a batch of something that turned out to be very good.
For some reason, I can never take a good picture in my kitchen and my only knowledge with a camera is to point and shoot. The plate of cookies (1 dozen) are for my daughter and son in law and the container of a dozen is for the freezer. I guess I will have to eat what is in the bag. lol
I hope you are all getting ready for a nice weekend. Do Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
Dentist are no fun, that's for sure, but you gotta love the reminder. It is cute. Now I want a cookie. They look absolutely delish.
ReplyDeleteThat really is a cute card from your dentist.
ReplyDeleteYour cookies look great!
Oh I hate the dentist too. I'm obsessed with flossing and all that so I don't have any problems, because then I'll really never want to go.
ReplyDeleteI never freeze candy. I eat it allll. But what a great idea you had to make the cookies from your candy. And you pic isn't bad :) If my pics don't come out good I'll just edit or add filters on photobucket to make them look better :)

Not fun to have dental work. I guess you've told your dentist about the pain after cleaning? Perhaps there's a rinse to help?
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look really good! I'm happy everything turned out with positive results yesterday! Enjoy your trip to the dentist, I never do, but the alternative is not something any of us want!
ReplyDeleteI'll be glad to help you with what's in that bag!:)
ReplyDeleteYesterday was my time to go to the dentist - no cavities! Good for another six months.:) Well, barring any unforeseen complications, that is, and we certainly don't expect any of those.
Have a great Thursday, Beth.
xo Nellie
I love the reminder card! We get boring ones!!
ReplyDeleteI "hide" candy in the freezer, too! What a great idea to make those cookies. Makes me hungry for a few!
I hate going, too. My teeth have gotten so sensitive these past few years and they hurt for a day or two after for me, too. I am supposed to go every six months, too...but I try to stretch it out to seven--LOL! ;)
ReplyDeleteCookies look good.
Oh the cookies look so delicious. Oh my goodness..I have to stop mysef from going out for ingredients. I am really REALLY suggestable as you can tell.
ReplyDeletethat dentist card is too cute.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I went for my 6 month cleaning I was told that the next time I was to expect a full mouth x-ray because it hadn't been done in 5 years. ( I only have 17 teeth.) When I protested because it was going to cost almost $300 and I don't have dental insurance, they told me they wouldn't clean without the x-rays! I was also told that It was an ADA recommendation and they follow it. I called 4 other dentists in the area and they told me the same thing! Now I feel backed into a corner! I sure want to refuse the x-rays but then they will refuse to treat! Have you ever heard of this?
ReplyDeleteYes, I have to have full mouth x-rays once a year. It doesn't cost that much here. I think it was $200 and you just reminded me that it is time for more x-rays. Oh shoot!!
DeleteI'm resigned that I have to do what I have to do. Not like!
DeleteIt's pretty hard to make something like dentist work look cute I admit but that was a creative way to do it! It remains very hot and dry for us but now our cabin get away is less than a week away and we are all looking forward to that. I wonder if it will be at all cooler. Have a nice day my friend.
ReplyDeleteI think you took a fabulous kitchen picture the cookies look clear, lifelike, no red eye, and delicious so I give you an A+ in photography! I am not a fan of the dentist but I don't get anxiety like most on going, my husband is the worst but that is another story on another blog in another galaxy far far from here! LOL Wishing you a very great weekend also Beth...God Bless you my dear!
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeleteScatterbrained, often describes me, especially as I get older.
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers for Callum and I hope you have a good weekend.
Hugs Nita
Cute card! Cookies look yummy!
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look so good. I'm craving chocolate right now.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say I look forward to going to the dentist but I don't mind in the least and I go every 6 months. I have a wonderful dentist who I love and who really loves being a dentist. I always bring him chocolate chip cookies when I go. : )
ReplyDeleteIt may just be a lighting problem in your kitchen for taking pictures. Sometimes there is just too much light if you are taking the picture near a window.
Yummy looking cookies. Cute cartoon. I'm not fond of the Dentist.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI hate going to the dentist!!! Those cookies look good. about the camera...I find if you turn off the flash and use the natural light that comes through the window you get really nice pictures...well that's what works for me anyway. I mean when they don't come out blurry that is!!! LOL Have a great day Beth!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joanne
More cookie recipes I see from another blogger, Im loving it! Richard from the Amish settlement of Lebanon,pa
ReplyDeleteHi Beth and first thank you for your blog visit, and regarding the followers list that would be at the bottom on Amish Stories. I welcome you as a reader and thank you for choosing me. Richard from Amish Stories
ReplyDeleteYes, you should eat the cookies in the bag! They sound delicious.
ReplyDeleteI hate the dentist, too. My mouth is always so sore for several days after a cleaning.
My grandfather use to like going to the dentist too! He use to fall asleep while he was getting his teeth cleaned! Go figure. I love when I find hidden treats in the freezer..Doesn't happen often though that I forget hiding treats LOL! Thank you for your comment on Kathys blog, so nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteCarol
The little cartoon is cute! A nice little 'reminder'!
ReplyDeleteHello Beth, I am with you and the dentist. It is something I dread and can't seem to get over it.
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look just wonderful.
Have a great weekend, thank you so much for being so faithful in visiting me. I appreciate it so much.
The fact that they say the electric chair was invented by a dentist, really explains a lot. Seriously, I have felt many times when making the trip to my Dentist that I might just not survive the ordeal and if I did, the bill surely would kill me!
ReplyDeleteYum... yum... cookies! They look absolutely delicious!
If you were close by I would put you on my cookie list with my kids. Take care!
DeleteDamn... ::making a mental note:: next move is CLOSER to Beth!!!! :)
DeleteVery funny advertisement:) I think the dentist is needing more money from you. I hate the dentist as well. There is this brutal and savage Russian woman who cleans my teeth. After she's done, there's blood and tears. I feel like I've been in a boxing match:) Cookies sound like a great idea:)
ReplyDeleteLOL yup you're not getting me to run there anytime soon either!
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look very yummy I wish I could be there to share a few :)
I need to have my dentist for my teeth have gotten to soon because I have bean waiting for more then five month ..
ReplyDeleteother wise some problems in more then five teeth on right hand.
Enjoy your coolies still lucky things...
Dentist's yes know what you mean Beth, I like that postcard I must admit. Enjoy your Cookies, that reminds me must bake some over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteHugs Sheila xx
Your cookies sound yummy! Sometimes the best food is made from leftover bits of other things. :D
ReplyDeleteNow then Beth, you know that if you eat too many of these cookies, you've no alternative but to visit the dentist, so hands off and put them back in the freezer, or send them to me. lol
