The Tree…

with my monthly picture of the tree between me and the cemetery.  The photo should have been taken on the 4th of July.  Sorry about that.  I will just blame it on the heat wave.

8 July 2012  Notice how brown the grass is.  4 August 2012, still no rain to speak of.

60% chance of rain for tonight.  Doing a rain dance.

Stay safe and be happy!!

  1. It's going to be pretty much mid-nineties temps for the week so I guess I can't complain too much. It's been oh so dry with the clouds mostly doing nothing. Have a great Sunday my dear friend.

  3. Our grass is all brown and crunchy like that here too. Have a nice Sunday!

  4. So interesting to show the tree month by month. Hope you get rain soon. I have heard about your heat wave on the news. I think the humidity must make it worse than our dry heat here in Arizona. Stay cool and have a good Sunday!

  6. It looks about the same up here I'm afraid. Really sad to see. Seems like a big branch of the tree is also dead. Maybe the drought just finished it off. We need rain so desperately.

  7. Twin...Our grass and weeds are crunch and brown too. I hope whomever tends that place where the tree is has that dead limb lopped off. The tree would probably appreciate it and put out some new growth.

  8. It's interesting to follow that tree, Beth. I ought to find one in the neighborhood to photograph. Most of our trees are evergreens - except for a few dwarf fruit trees.

I'm glad your temperatures are expected to be lower for you today. We are still rather hot, but expect a cool down for the coming week. Of course, that means the chance of storms will come first.

I hope you are having a peaceful day!

  9. It looks like we are also going into a heat wave here in Alberta, the forecast say about 8 days but it could be longer.

    PSALM 23

    THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD,
    That's Relationship!

    I shall not want,
    This supply is!

MAKE ME WALK IN GREEN PASTURES,
    This is rest!

He leadeth me beside the still waters,
    This is refreshing!

    He restores my soul,
    This is healing!

GUIDE ME FOR THE PATHS OF JUSTICE,
    That's Guidance!

FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR NAME,
    This is on purpose!

THOUGH I WALK THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH,
    That's Testing!

    I will fear no evil,
    That's Protection!

    Thou art with me,
    That is fidelity!

YOUR STICK AND YOUR staff they comfort me,
    This is discipline!

Prepare a table before ME IN THE PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES,
    This is hope!

    UNGE MY HEAD WITH OIL
    That's Consecration!

    And my cup runneth over,
    That's Abundance!

SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY A follow me EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE,
    This is a blessing!

AND I WILL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD
    That's Security!

    FOR LONG DAYS,
    This is eternity!

May the Lord bless you and keep you!

  13. Isn't it amazing how you can take a picture of something and it will be different every time.
Hope things cool down abit for you. I know it has been pretty hot here at times also, and I haven't biked as much this summer due to the hot weather among other things.
I wait and take Jesse for his walks in the evening when things cool down a bit. He doesn't do well in the heat either.
Well you take care and have a good week Beth and thank you ever so much for your visit.
    Hugs, Dianne :)

  14. I hope you get rain soon! I really like your tree photos! I like the dusting of snow the best. :) Probably because I never see snow in Florida. :)

  15. We all need to get on our knees and pray for rain....from Illinois to Texas to Colorado....not sure about the rest of the country, but the heat and lack of measurable precipitation is going to be the death of us all. I am just glad we don't have the wild fires again this year YET. Poor Colorado and New Mexico....did they ever get their wild fires extiguished? Last year when we had record heat with record lengths of over 100 degrees, we lost so many trees in our neighborhood. Tap water just doesn't do what good old rain water from the Heavens will do!

  16. I love trees. This is great! I am also curious about the history of the cemetery you mention. There is such history in cemeteries, and sadly the lives end up forgotten. It's what drove my post recently on The Lonely Grave.
Praying for rain; I know you are too! Peace!

  18. Hi Beth. I'm doing a rain dance for you. Gimpy leg and all. Actually it's getting better. I like your idea of taking pictures of the tree. Why didn't I think of that?

  20. The grass has gotten really brown, but the tree still looks good. Except for that one dead branch, of course. ;)
