This is my sister Rae standing on the foot bridge over the railroad cut in September 2007. We have each lost over 25 lbs since then
.
And yet a different view I took of the bridge which was close to my home.
I hope if you are interested in railroad history that you will take a look at the links. The only bridge remaining across the railroad cut now is the one I am showing you in the pictures.
Have an uncloudy day, tolerate the heat, and long for fall. That is what I am going to do. It is to be 100 actual degrees today. I have an appointment to get my hair cut this morning. I will be in then for the rest of the day.
Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
I've recently been on a train. Didn't know it would make me motion sick. LOL But there is something charming about the tracks and it's history.
ReplyDeleteYou and your sis look so happy.
It will be 100 here all week. I LONG for fall!
I love trains..rode one to Ca. twice in my life, wonderful memories. I got motion sick on one when I looked over the edge of those windy roads out west. Haven't been on one in ages. Going to be 100 or more here too..can't wait til it cools off.
ReplyDeleteHate the humidity. Take care and stay cool, XXOO
You and your sister looks so great. Way to go on the weight loss. You must be a little peanut now. Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing you two, Twin! And I sure remember that bridge and your walk abouts when you took the camera. Right now though, NO one much wants to walk about. Too ding danged hot and humid.
ReplyDeleteNice photos of you and your sister! Wow, 25 pounds! That's great! And I agree with #7 on yesterday's list! Your comment on my blog was so GREAT! I wish I could do all that, but it really is so much with the debit card usage. When we go on trips, I always take a little notebook with me and keep track of every penny we spent. I like to then make a grand total of our trip. I've been doing this for years. Now if only I could get this organized in my every day life! Enjoy your day, stay cool!
ReplyDeleteI like those photos Beth! It's also sure nice to see you and your sister!
ReplyDeleteI love old railroad areas. Daddy worked for the C & O for years and my family has roots in the coal mines so I grew up loving those old coal trains rumbling through the little country towns.
ReplyDeletecute "matchey" shirts!! and congrats on the weight loss, i could stand to lose some!!
ReplyDeletei adore the sound of a train whistle. it always brings me comfort and makes me smile!!
I'm staying in today, too. Whew...what a summer we are having.
ReplyDeleteI love trains. Rode from Indy to Chicago once and loved it.
stay cool! a haircut might help with that! :)
ReplyDeleteWe have here the long island railroad and I would take that everyday to work. I would love one day to take a trip on one maybe to my beloved Florida.? I wonder what it would be like to sleep on a train. I'm due for an adventure.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,joanne
Good going on the weight loss!! : )
ReplyDeleteWe too are having another one of those HOT days.
Well done on the weight loss Beth , phew sounds hot there stay cool and go with the flow. Sheila xx
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeleteLike your photo, well done to you both on the weight loss.
Hope your weather cools down and ours heats up just a little bit, high seventies, would be nice and quite hot enough.
Hugs Nita
Yes, congratulations to both of you on he weight loss. Outstanding accomplishment! I love your pictures too.
ReplyDeleteI wish cooler temperatures and rain for you.
ReplyDeleteWe had some showers this afternoon that have given us cooler temperatures for awhile.
It's good to see images of those bridges.
We had 105 degrees here today. I am very ready for some rain and cooler temperatures to come our way. Congratulations on the weight loss. That's not an easy thing to do.
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations on losing 25 pounds! That's fantastic you and your sister both managed this! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your weight loss. How short did you get your hair cut? I need one - ready to save my head! Sandie
ReplyDeleteMy hair has been really short for a long time. I get it cut every 4 weeks. The top is short enough to spike it if I want. I usually don't.
DeleteGreat pictures Beth. You both look wonderful. That is quite an accomplishment. Way to go!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat was interesting that they cut the ground so to make the railroad level and put bridges over it. Paxton looks like a pretty little town.
ReplyDeleteSince our air conditioner has been out since Friday and we've been forced to open our windows and doors to survive, I have heard the train whistle as it goes through our town. I guess I haven't been still and listened (Hubby and I also have been sitting outside almost all day so as to not die from the heat....at least there is a breeze outside), or I just haven't been tuned into what is going on around me, but that train whistle brought back memories of spending the night with my grandmother and listening to the train going down the track and to the whistle as I would settle down to go to sleep. She lived close to the train station.
I'm with you Beth. It's nuts here as well. If you don't get out early early in the morning then you might as well forget about it. I tried but it's just too much.
ReplyDeleteI love railroads....especially walking along them through the woods. I just feel like sometimes someone is going to come from out of nowhere and kill me. But then never happened. When I was a kid in WI, I would take my dog with me and we'd walk the tracks. I remember when the tracks were used. Today, they sit unused and overgrown with trees. Kinda sad for me to see. It's hard going home sometimes but thankfully family distracts:)
Dear Beth,
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely time in nice to haircut you and your sister.
I think good idea for happy time for both of you too.
I remember when there were tracks across the river here and the passenger trains would go by with the lights shining in the windows.
ReplyDeletefirst off CONGRATS on the weight loss!! You rock!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures what a great memory and place to visit!
Well done on losing that weight, though I must say you didn't look to bad beforehand, I sometime feel like cutting my hair short again, as with all this wet damp weather it's never as nice as I'd like.sigh. I love trains, but it's not a cheap option for travel here in UK. keep cool. X
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures Beth.... and 25 pounds. Holy Cow. that is GREAT!!
