Sunday morning…

and a bit drizzly outside.  I think I counted about half a dozen rain sprinkles when I took the garbage out a few minutes ago.  This is not to be confused with rain.  And even though I have gotten used to it and promised not to mention it, it is to be upper 90s to low 100s for the next 8 days.  Not mentioning it, just saying!

Life does go on despite the senseless killings in the movie theater.  We each have our own problems to deal with that remain forefront in our minds.  Reading the paper or watching TV we see the horror replayed over and over and our minds go back to the victims and their families and the terrible grief they are bearing.  I grieve with them.

I have the barbeque on cooking for the sandwiches which I am serving on onion buns.  The potato salad is made and the baked beans are put together, ready to fix.  The cherry pie is sliced, and even though tempted I didn’t take a bite.  Most likely because my tummy is a bit barfy this morning.  lol  I thought about going to the store this morning for some vanilla ice cream for the pie but I decided I was too lazy.

I have one chapter left in my Sandford book of 401 pages.  This means I will have to start a new book this evening.

I hope you are all having a peaceful weekend.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  2. Yes, life does and must go one, but it is sad/scarey that these things are becoming so common place in our society...so many shootings and mass killings we tend to lose track of them. Hope your weekend is more peaceful and that you enjoy your meal. Boy it sounds great and you have inspired me to make some potato salad today! Enjoy the week ahead!

  3. Hi Beth,

Summer seems to have arrived at last in England. Lovely summer day here today and the forecast is the same for the rest of the week, well with increasing temps to reach 30/31 centigrade by Friday.

Yes it is a sad world, but as you say life must go on.

    Hugs Nita

  9. Hi Beth, I agree with Debbie a perfect meal for a hot summer day! Our weather here in Millbrook, NY has cooled off a bit with no humidity. Even so, I know it won't last long. In addition, my prayers go out to all the victims and their family and friends. Hugs, to you Anna.

  19. I hope you won't find the heat too much Beth, we too are experiencing very hot weather, though not quite in the 90's.
I can't understand the mentality of these people who commit mass slaughter of people they don't even know so can't have a gripe with. Awful, and so painful for the families left behind.
